Well, in a word, nothing. However, the only place the link to the map exists is in this forum, and I didn't make it a public map so that it cannot be found through a search. I could also make the map more controlled by allowing only certain people access to edit it.

I can do that. If someone wants me to post a location, let me know and I'll get it on there.

Just tell me what you want your marker label to be, where on the map to put it, and what other information you want included.

Maybe Codeman (if that is your real name ) could start another thread in the "Meet the Escapee's" forum titled something like "Escape Owners Map" and post a brief description on what to do to post on it. That would be a big help to everyone.

Maybe it could be made to be a sticky too.

I can do that, too. I'll leave the map unlocked for now until we hear from Jeff. If he wants me to be the only editor and add people, then I'll start another thread as suggested and get after it!

Another idea for the colors - maybe we could say that everyone with a 19' is blue, 5.0s are red, 17's are yellow, etc. That might make for a more interesting map.

Yep, I was just taking an evening sail to enjoy the Pacific sunset with a cold beer in hand (got the idea from a Corona tv commercial). I'm back home in central TX now that the sun's down... not to mention my beer was empty & I needed a refill!

Cool idea - I'm glad to see the map idea which has been previously floating around on the forum is finally getting some traction.

This is one of the the best ideas yet! Even I - who no one who knows me would argue - am a ditz when it comes to computer techie stuff, managed to get us marked on the map! SO exciting. Thank you so much Codeman for getting this going. I also love the idea of colour coding our beloved Escapes. Also, Ian suggested that there be a 'map' link on the menu bar.

Actually this will be very beneficial to prospective owners in that once a rally is planned, we can place it on the map or a new map for meets, and they can then attend and see the product "first hand" so to speak.
