AC questions
Just wondering...if I don't want an AC unit now...but wish to have the wiring and supports in place in case I need to add it later...how is the opening in the roof covered? Guess I could call ETI and ask but they have to be insanely busy. I feel guilty even emailing them. Are there any options to the current stock AC units?

It's covered with a regular 14x14 vent.

A 14x14 crank open vent is installed in the opening. AC ready is a good option.

I think A/C ready is standard now, even if you don't get it during initial build. If you're not getting the solar, having THAT pre-wired for the future is an extra option.

I will have the solar but I want a very quiet AC and the one in my 19 isn't. Thought maybe I would try to get by with the Maxxfan and a smaller inside fan.

Donna is correct, all trailers are wired, A/C ready. I have never had A/C on a trailer, but with those I have been in that have it, I have never heard a quiet one yet. Some may be quieter than others, but still make quite a bit of noise.
I am holding off until travels take me to places where it is more necessary.

Has anyone upgraded their ac unit ?I understand it's been done and the unit is quieter than the standard AC unit. Can anyone recall?Thinkin AC here in North Carolina is a definite but would like to be fully informed of options,I too feel guilty calling ETI so often.
Also will the bottom insulation be necessary to keep heat OUT.

I have had both a/c units, the Coleman Polar Cub in my Escape 19 and the stock Dometic in my 21. Noise is about the same, but remember there are size differences in both the unit and the trailers. Both units can be operated off a 2000 watt generator. But you can only get the digital thermostat with the Dometic, it operates both a/c and heat. With the Polar Cub you can not get the digital t/stat and it also costs $$$ more.

Thanks Jim.I think I'm leaning towards the stock Domestic if you think there is a negligible difference. With a 12V fan and the ac it should be OK for warm beach weather here in NC.
