Another consideration concerning new vs. used: a new Escape will not have the same full two year warranty if you are living in it full time.

Personally I'm of the opinion that the 2 year warranty is a sales tool, albeit a good one, regarding the construction of the trailers. Every one of the subsystems (fridge, etc) will defer to the manufacturers warranties. A glass trailer should last a decade or more if well designed and built, which the Escape trailers seem to be.

Yes, it's a sales tool, but it also shows the confidence Reace has in his company's work. Consider that a Scamp or a Casita has the industry norm 1 year warranty, and that says alot.

Best advice is to figure out how many places you can go camp based on your own ability because you will want to keep doing it once you get one.

Hi Linda, Cathy, & Carl,

Thanks for sharing your experiences and thoughts with me about size and options vs. price; new vs used, etc.. There is so much to consider and I agree that I should aim for what would work best for me in the long term since it would be my retirement home!
