All about Escape 5.0 trailers.

By looking at the production schedule, I am guessing that the production of the original Escape 5.0 has ended. I was just wondering if anyone knew the answers to the following questions.

>When was the first 5.0 rolled out for ownership?

>Who owns the first one?

>Who knows how many were built before production of the 5.0 was discontinued?

>Who got the last one and when?

Perhaps ETI knows the answers. I haven't asked them.

I believe Ian and Paddy Waymark were/are the owners of the first Escape 5er. They picked it up early January 2007. This is the trailer that made me fall in love with the Escape 5er. I saw it on the inaugural trip from Chilliwack south! this is a thread on FiberglassRV that Reace started 11-23-2006: Escape 5.0 has hatched!

And I THINK the last classic 5er is still in production. Something like March/April 2014 for the last one? There's a thread here on the forum about it... somewhere.

Thanks for the link Donna. My search didn't recognize 5.0. The first one I saw was down here at the '09 Matagorda Rally. I was impressed with the innovative design and aerodynamics. It made my '03 Casita look like an old fashion egg. If you notice, this one had no front hatch. I wonder if any one is keeping production numbers and facts. It would be interesting to have that compiled at the end of production.

I think Donna's correct: the classic 5.0 is still in production, until the new design is ready to be built, but all of the remaining production slots have been taken. That makes it discontinued for sales, but not for production.

Just to chime in, the new 5.0 will replace the old one. The goal is to have a new 5.0 on display at the next Escape rally in June and production to begin late summer (2014). Once it comes into production, the single axle 5.0 will be retired.

David, that looks like Dana's Escape. She was at the Oregon Gathering several years back. Matching the decals of the trailer to the tug is what really stands out. Owner personalization!

Yes...we haven't seen her around since 2012. Guess we travel in different circles. Wonder how she's doing? That 5.0 has traveled everywhere!

I believe "Not so Big Al" is taking the delivery of the last 5.0 around the third week of April...
