Andersen Levelers & 2017 5.0TA (Torsion Axles)
Has anyone with a 2017 5.0TA with torsion axles cut their Andersen Levelers to fit?
Carl (C&G in FL) graciously provided me with the measurements he used for his 2015 5.0TA with spring axles. Before making the cut (thinking it might be different because of the axles), I though I might check to see if someone with a 2017 5.0A with torsion axles has made the cut yet.
Thanks in advance,
Mark

Jim, we are leaving Louisiana tomorrow morning headed to Chilliwack and was wanting to cut them to fit before we leave. I guess I could bring a saw but we have so much stuff in the truck now! Do you have a guess as to how much you had to cut?

Escape maybe able to give you a measure between tires at ground level, otherwise take the saw.

My trailer is parked in a spot a bit away from the house right now due to us moving, but if I go by it today I can measure.
I would not worry about it a lot for the time being. In the last 50 times I set up, I used them maybe twice. Most of the time a simple Lynx block is more than enough.

Mark, you could call ETI and see if the spacing between axles was changed when they switched to torsion axles. I don't believe it did.

Otherwise, just drive onto a couple small 1" (or so) blocks. Then the distance between the tires is not as critical. Distance between tire and block gives you more room to work with.

Thanks! I have a call in to ETI to see if there is a difference between the 2015 and 2017 5.0TA axle spacing.

I spoke with ETI and they confirmed that the axle spacing has not changed. Andersen Levelers are cut and loaded!
Thanks!

Only need to cut one
Save a little work. Just cut one. Only the one placed between the axles needs shortening. A circular saw set at a 45 degree angle works great. That hack saw blade will do it, too. About an inch.

Good idea, Bill. I just automatically cut both, but now realize there was no need to.
