August 2017: The Excitement is building

Started working on reservations today. I am hoping to pick up my 21 on July 31. I was was able to make reservations at West Yellowstone for the return trip. Also I was able to make reservations at Riverton WY for the Eclipse. Still need reservations several other places for the return trip. Doing this makes it seem even more real about getting the Escape. I am planning to take a full month on this trip from Austin to Chilliwack and back. The 21 is about 90% paid for at this point. There are a couple of things on my build sheet that I am going back and forth on, but I am about 95% complete on it.

Isn't this stuff exciting? I found the anticipation to be about 99.9% of the fun AND excitement building. Making reservations for the trip, packing and planning. It's almost the same stuff I remember about being a child Christmas morning. But it can last weeks/months. Too few times as an adult do we get excited about "stuff." I wish you well and MUCH excitement!

The nice thing about your Escape is not having to make reservations unless for a specific event. We traveled cross country towing a motor cycle trailer and made reservations for each night. I found that due to traffic or detours or whatever that the reservations added stress due to having a deadline to check in.
Now we make a decision depending on how we feel and where we are whether we want to stop at a cg, we call and place a hold. Otherwise we drive until we get tired, pull into a rest area, take a snooze inside our hotel room on wheels and leave refreshed several hours later.
