Our Award had electric brakes as seen in the photos when I redid them.
Good luck and happy RVing.

Thanks Ed.
So that is a Euro-style AK-KO coupler, but from the U.S. division (in Indiana) and not an overrun braking type. Given that, if I had to guess, I would expect conventional (for North America) electric drum brakes on all Awards.

Also being at the Niagara Escape Rally, I asked Barry about Award. Barry used to own an Award and even organized the annual rallies but now has an Escape 21. I had seen 3 new Award trailers north of London, Ontario and was wondering what the deal was. He said Award had gone through 2 bankruptcies and now they are being build under the name Reward.

They are a nice low aerodynamic unit with a galvanized frame and a roof that does not allow water to sit. However some have a front window seal problem.

I saw one of this style of trailer in Russia last year. The two things that made an impression were the tapered frame and the fact that it was galvinized.
This style of trailer reminds me of the caravans that they used to thrash in "caravan races" on the old Top Gear.

Thor sold the remaining General Coach Canada operation (by then known as Citair, and building only park model trailers) in 2010. The current owners seem to have resumed travel trailer production with a traditional design branded Roughneck and by building something in the Award body style as the Reward line under the old Citation brand.
It's bizarre how little information about the Reward is offered by the General Coach website, but they appear to no longer use the galvanized sheet steel frame or Euro-style coupler.
