B. C. Ferries has lowered RV rates as of April 1/10
Escape-ers (and other RV fans) who live on Vancouver Island have been plagued by high ferry rates, especially over-height charges. According to today's Victoria newspaper, BC Ferries has taken off the over-height charge effective April 1/10, though they have somewhat raised the overlength (now $5.25 a foot from the previous $3.60). The bottom line: I think anybody contemplating a trip across Georgia Strait with an RV might find it now costs a bit less than before, especially if they have a small rig. One could check this cost by going to BC Ferries web site, once they've posted the new charges.
