Bathroom in 5.0

I don't see much discussion on this forum about the bathroom in the 5.0 trailer. I know it's very small but is it actually useable as well? Is it possible to shower or is that just something I should plan on forgetting about? Any advice on what to expect regarding the bathroom would be appreciated

Hi, Kevin. Try the Google site search for "shower bath 5.0" (without the quotation marks). Lots of hits are about the exterior shower, but also discussions of shower floor, curtains, etc., which indicate folks do use their showers. (We use ours, but it's a 21, not the 5.0.) Here's one particularly pertinent thread I came across:

Showers - How Many Use Them

We've used our shower a lot, and I believe it's smaller than the 5.0. It takes some getting use to but it works pretty good. It's best to have the fan on all the time you have the water on, that way you're not putting all kinds of moisture into the rest of the trailer. And you may want to replace the shower curtain with a heavier one, the one they supply is quite flimsy.

This may well be buried in the thread Mary refers to, but at 11 pages I'll post it here.

As far as size of the shower, at 6'2" I bump my elbows some but it works. The size of the bath doesn't really factor into our decision to use it or not. You'll have to see one to know if it'll work for you.

We primarily use the campground showers and use ours when there is a need. Not all campgrounds have showers, some are downright nasty, and occasionally we're not in a campground.

Using campground showers saves us drying the enclosure, keeps out the humidity, and helps limit trips to empty the holding tanks.

Kevin,
Since we have been considering a 5.0, now that we have a truck, I stood in a 5.0 bathroom yesterday, here at the rally.
The 21 still has the largest shower, but the 5.0 is definitely full size enough for showering. It has just a little less space, but considerably more headroom. I am 6 feet tall and have room in both. There's probably 3 inches more headroom in the 5.0.
Like someone else said, you just gotta try each on for size.

I use a 17b shower it's very tight looking forward to the bigger bathroom in the 5.0 looks very usable to me I sometimes shower at the campground shower and sometimes in the trailer.

The one with the much larger bath is the 21. That's because it's not on the side but in the corner, allowing Escape to use a much deeper and somewhat wider enclosure. The bathroom on the 5.0 is similarly tight like the one in our 19. We do use the shower when the campground doesn't have them or when they aren't up to snuff. It's tight, but completely doable. You aren't taking a long leisurely shower anyway like at home, so it's really not a problem unless you're a large person. If you can walk around comfortably inside an Escape, you're small enough to use the shower...

Bathroom dimensions are all available on line at the Escape site. Personally I have no interest in showering in my 19 footer. It's do-able but campground showers are much larger, no drying out the trailer, etc. I have more interest in the space to comfortably use the toilet. On our Casita, it was really tight. The Escape is much nicer.

To each his own.

I don't mind a cramped shower and hate going to a shower in the campground. I plan to use the one in my 5.0 all the time. Drying afterwards is quick work and cleans the whole bathroom.

I'm somewhere in between. If the campground has clean and adequate shower facilities, by all means we will use them. That's a big IF though. Many of the places we camped have showers that can only be called gross. Others may have no showers at all.

It's a great convenience to know we can shower in the trailer, but we don't prefer to use it all the time.

I assume the shower will be tight so I opted out of the bathroom sink and plan on having the TP roll on a side wall next to the toilet. I will use the shower on the 5.0TA as it is one of the main reasons I am buying a travel trailer.

I'm 200 lbs. (all lean muscle btw) and just got out of the shower in our 5.0 10 minutes ago. While you can't stretch out in all directions, your appreciation of having a hot shower will override any limitations on dancing space,

Emailed ETI and the response was that the shower is more like 75" tall, rather than the 72" stated in the specs. She said the ceiling slopes. Finding a usable bathroom is important for us. DH is fine with sitting for his shower (so he says). We tried on an Oliver a couple weeks ago, and they position a molded cabinet above the head which makes DH have to not just sit to shower, but also lean forward...loved the trailer, but I think I love him more, so we are back to searching. For the record, he is 6'7".

Ah, that great a vertical projection may be an issue that my sub-6' frame presents.

I use the shower all the time in the 19. In AZ you don't have to dry out anything, it's all dry in about 15 minutes. The 17b we had, the shower was tough to use, but the 19 I can stand up and turn around while showering.. I understand the 19 and 5.0 baths are the same, so it should be more than enough to use.

The shower is tight, but we have the sink, and haven't had a problem showering. It's really not in the way, being in the corner.

Yes, sink no problem and wouldn't be without it. Also handy to use for items when taking a shower!

I used the shower in my new 17B last weekend and found it less cramped (and less claustrophobic, with no window) than I anticipated. ( I also omitted the sink.) ( Probably helps that I've lost 42 lbs since October! &#128540. I found a tray that just fits beside the toilet to hold shampoo, etc. When I shower, I set everything on the ledge.

We haven't showered in our 5 but did in our 17b-as others have said it's good to have if the campground ones are sub par - wouldn't be without the sink - wouldn't like brushing my teeth in the kitchen sink....

I've used our 2017 5.0 TA bathroom shower many times. I'm a little over 6' 3" and about 170 lbs. The celling is about 0.5" above my head and I don't have any serious problems with the overall size of the bathroom. We do have the sink. I prefer the shower in our trailer to most campground showers.

I recommend replacing the hose on the shower head with a much more flexible hose.
