Bed Arrangement

We currently have a 17' Casita Liberty that is arranged with 30" wide twin beds with nightstand between the beds and a full shelf across the head end of the bed. This has fit our needs very well with the exception we would like more interior camper space. We also have a two year old grandson that we hope to take camping next year and need the extra bed the Escape dinette could provide.

We have looked at the 19' and 21' Escape campers and have been impressed. The 21' unit is particularly appealing but the sleeping arrangement is not our first choice though from the number of units being built it appears it does fit the needs of the majority of the buyers.

My question is the twin bed arrangement even possible with the 21' unit and if so would there be enough interest for Escape to even consider an optional arrangement?

You should probably call ETI and speak to Reace as he will do what the customer wants if it is possible. My question is where would you put the bathroom? Relocating plumbing and tanks might be the limiting factor. But it wouldn't hurt to ask. Did you consider the 5.0TA, even though it needs a truck for a TV?

Bunks up against the drivers side wall in a 21 would work if you are dead set on having separate beds.

In a 21 the black water tank sits on the inside floor under the passenger side of the bed and the drain exits on the opposite (drivers) side. Wifey has no problem (sleeps by the window) getting out of bed at night as there is a good foot of floor space between the bed and nightstand.

Note the bath shell is put into the 21 before the halves are joined. It will NOT fit through the door, so a retrofit later is impossible.

Our grandkids love the bed that is created at the rear with the dinette. I have my grandson sit on the floor and stick the posts back in the table sockets when it's time to put the table up!

It has been a few months since we looked at a 21' model. What is the bed size? Is It accessible from the side or does it require access from the foot of the bed?

Bed is pretty close to a standard double bed. 54"x80" with a bit cut off 1 corner. While there is a bit of the bottom left side that is open, you pretty much have to access it from the foot of the bed.

While the bed in the 21' doesn't boast the queen-sized luxury of the 5er or the 19, we sleep well in it, and either of us can climb out in the middle of the night without waking the other. We also like the fact that the bed area remains dark well after sunrise, which comes pretty darn early in summer. The "shelf" is handy for books, glasses, and other small items, and the wall at the head of the bed is vertical, not sloped, and gives good support for reading or computer-browsing.
