6 business days for me. I only paid $30 in extra fees, which made my jaw drop!

Ymmv. Good purchase for me.

My 2 bike rack cost me $84.87 USD shipped UPS to my door. There were brokerage fees on top of that too, but I don't remember what those were.

A bit pricey yes, but the value is certainly there.

UPS customs clearance fees should have been $19.95 (or more, if bumped to the next category after currency conversion), assuming that this was not one of the UPS shipping services which do not charge a customs clearance fee.
UPS: Rates for Customs Clearance into Canada

As always, this is charged by the courier (UPS), not a fee imposed by a government.

For a rack as good as this one is reported to be, the price (even with shipping and extra charges) seems reasonable to me.

CCM 2-Bike Hitch Platform Carrier | Canadian Tire
That rack looks like a CCM-branded version of the SportRack 2 Bike Locking Platform Hitch Rack. I have an earlier and very similar version of this SportRack, and I wouldn't recommend the one I have. I chose it because the design lent itself to adaptation for a non-bike item I needed to carry, but that design has some problematic features. The top-tube hooks are not quick to secure and interfere with each other, those top-tube hooks are the only the part holding the bike down, and the secondary strap is awkward.

Fortunately, the new version has an improved folding feature which gets the rack out of the way of a hatch (unlike mine), although only when not loaded (when used on the tug - not relevant when it's on a trailer or my motorhome). The clamps for the hooks have changed to ratchet and to lock, so they might be better than my handwheel clamps.

I suggest considering the shape of your bike frame to see if the top hook will work well, keeping in mind that the hook is always in the middle, but the adjustable wheel trays can be shifted somewhat side-to-side.

Sitting at the ferry today, I realized someone could ease off the wheel bars easy enough. Either to steal or malice damage. Wrapping chain around all points is a pain.

Their wheel locks are 4.x inches shank length and some small diameter. How easy is that to find in other stores?

Fender cushion, not for me.

Bar stop, not for my 1up.

I have used that Thule T2 before. It is a real nice rack, and would work fine, but I would rate it behind both the Kuat, and the 1UP. It likely is a bit lighter too. But, you just can't beat the simplicity, and quality build of the 1UP, at least with racks I have used.

I don't think I know two people with the same rack, and every one of them seems to get our bikes to where we want them.

After smoking the "rough crossing" railway line by Champoeg at about 55mph, ain't nobody should be worried about how RV ok this rack is.

Multiple speed runs over Seattle's I5 washboard might warrant checking the tightness of the important bits.....

Well that's nice the bike(s) didnt fly off at a RR crossing but am still looking for some distance feedback. Also, it does not seem that this rack provides for easy safety strapping/redundancy securing. Can you strap bikes somehow or is the only means to secure them the brackets that ride on the bike tires?

OK- bought one on faith as no one has reported any distance traveling using the 1UP. It is pretty awesome looking; hopefully it will be the last rack I buy- should find out soon as we're heading to Idaho next week.

Ross, I brought my bike back from Utah on a Kuat rack that I bought from the excellent Zion Cycles in Springdale, UT. The rack held the bike reliably the whole way without adjustment, but the road vibration started a few screws working themselves loose. I might use some of the light version of Locktite on them in future, or just check them every time we stop. Let's compare notes occasionally on how the two racks perform.

1K+ miles and the 1UP is the one! Also, it tilts upward; the second bike rides slightly higher so ground clearance is no problem.

Glad the 1UP is working really well for you, Ross.

I would not have bought a Kuat until I could have seen a 1UP for comparison, but Kuat's built-in bike repair stand feature sealed the deal for me.

Mine is on my trailer right now, headed to Osoyoos. I have used it hordes in the last year, and everybody, without exception, claims it to be the best they have used. Two friends have now bought one too.
