Bike rack ready?

I assume this is just a hitch receiver on the back bumper. Is that correct? 1 1/4" or 2" receiver?

I have ordered one of the prebuilt 19s. It comes "bike rack ready". I didn't ask Escape about it, because I was somewhat indecisive about it -- I've got a truck now, so I can just throw the bikes in the back. But, since it's coming, I figured I'd see if it's useful...

I happen to have a bike rack for a 1 1/4" receiver, which is now less than perfect since my tow vehicle has gone from 1 1/4" to 2" receiver with the new truck.

It's a 2" receiver, and you should be able to buy a step-down adapter for your 1 1/4".

We've used our "bike rack ready" receiver many times, most often for bikes on Allen three-bike rack. The rack came with an adapter for 1 1/4 inch or 2 inch receivers. So, we can even use the rack in our Outback when we are trailerless.

The hitch receiver is also great for an external cargo rack, although with your truck, you probably won't need the extra storage capacity for a while.

I had an adapter for our 1 1/4" bike rack, misplaced it, and found that the first racks and carriers store that I tried routinely stocks them - no problem.
