The steel wheels ETI uses are a better grade then what I've had before. My old steel rims looked worse then Glenn's after just 2 years. If his are the norm, then rust isn't something I'd worry about.

Aluminum alloys look nice, but they're not maintenance free. They'll pit from the chemicals in road rash... keep them waxed. And, the lead weights from balancing the tires/wheel can leave a permanent stain on the wheel.

When I was going through my build sheet, the fancy wheels were something I left off. I can buy different brands/styles locally and thought when it's time to buy new tires, I'll get the wheels then.

So, I keep an eye on the maintenance of the white wheels and figure paint is cheap!

I have had the aluminum wheel for 3 years on our Escape and almost the same wheel for 7 years on our Casita without any problems, rust or pitting. I wash our trailer when we return from a trip before putting it away and wash and clean the wheels at the same time just like I do on our cars that all have aluminum wheels. I wax them when I wax the trailer. I still have lots of bling bling left.

If you have aluminum wheels on the TV they look great on the trailer.
