Pat, we cook all kinds of things using steamers. Silicone steamers work well.

For me, just one of many mods I make that I really like, though it is a showy one, that's for sure. Not many folks have a built-in dry bar.

The microwave is easily removed, just held in place with maybe 8 screws and retaining clips. The oven is probably permanent due to the cabinetry and gas lines.

If the oven is removed, so is the stove, since they're integrated into one appliance - it's just a few screws and a gas line to remove, but the result would be a big cut-out in the cabinet (not even a front edge to the countertop) to fill with whatever you chose for a replacement.

Why? I can see removing a microwave to gain cupboard space, but why remove the oven/range?

Thank you to all who answered. We are in the process of buying a 2017 19 foot Escape, and I don't really need/want the oven and microwave that are in it. I hadn't thought about the gas line problem, but I can easily use the oven for storage. Same thing with the microwave.
Small issues, and it's a gorgeous trailer.

If you're willing to do some cabinetry work, you could build a box to fit the range (oven and stove) space, with a stove mounted in the top (using the same gas line) and a drawer or two below it, but it's certainly easier to just leave the oven. The oven rack can be left out for more storage room.
If you're really never going to use the microwave, it's easy to take out, and Escape can sell you a cabinet door to fit that space. It's a finished compartment, so once you take the microwave out you have a nice cupboard.

MW space
WE had our MW installed under the range and moved the big wardrobe UP to the top (drivers side) and added the second big wardrobe beside it, over the 2 drawer cabinet area..we there4 lost that tiny bit of counter, but added a flip up at foot of bed and one to the L of the bigger sink and a flipper in the dinette(passenger side), for use by those who hafta sleep thereon, as a nite table! . Pix are posted in another thread. Can't wait to pick it up!!
I must say ETI has the best Customer Service folks I have EVER run into in my 70+ years!!! Bar NONE!!
