Mark, there is no need to mention the PM sent from a thread. Adrian will get notice of the PM at the same time as this thread anyway. He might think you are harassing him.

Jim, I don't think so. We have good relationship, and he hasn't received notification (or noticed) that I have forwarded some PM,s in the past. Just trying to make sure, this is important.

Is it possible Adrian maybe turned off notification for PMs, but left it on for thread subscription. I do just the opposite, as I want to know about a PM, but not all the threads I have subscribed to. Either way, I believe when you check into the site, even before he reads this thread, he would get notification of a new message.

Maybe we need to send someone to straighten Adrian out.

It's ok Jim I am straight enough. I just haven't been on the forum for a couple of days so didn't see the notification. I shall just have to check why I do not get an email advising me of the notification. I have answered Mark.

Our poor trailer hardly saw any snow this winter being in TX for a good part of it, now for the second day we have snow flurries here! How about Calgary, know you got some last week? Any sign of spring there?

I'll decide, okay.

If you go to User CP | Settings & Options | Edit Options | Messaging & Notification | Private Messaging | Then the 3rd box down is a check box to "Receive Email Notification of New Private Messages". Check that box, and you will receive an email to let you know of a PM. Easy Peasy.

BTW, on the same page under "Default Thread Subscription Mode", I set it to "No email Notification". I don't care to be bombarded with emails letting me know a subscribed thread has a reply, I get enough emails to sift through. I do like the PM email notification though, as in is much more likely something I wand to read, and reply to.

"We have good relationship"
Might be easier if you all just exchanged e-mail addresses.

Yeah, that doesn't work for me Jim. Never has. I set it to 'no email notification' months ago and I still get 'bombarded'. I just created a folder and a custom rule in Outlook that auto-deletes the notification emails.

Seems weird it doesn't work proper for you, and does for me, and I assume everyone else. Maybe an admin tech could help.

You can receive a notice when you get on the forum saying that someone has replied to a personal message.

That is completely different from receiving notification every time someone replies to a thread you are on. I have the latter on Fiberglassrv because it is impossible to keep track of so many threads and even find a thread that I was interested in again. So that can be helpful over there, not usually necessary here.

To stop future email notifications, the correct option is "Do Not Subscribe".

This does not stop previous subscriptions.

Members need to cancel previous subscriptions to stop them.

I have made both changes to your account and you should no longer receive email notifications.

Hi: GerriJ... C'puter's back. My diagnosis was the power supply cord. My estimate was $65. Ended up at $25. + $64.95 for a new power supply cord!!! Hmmm. Now the power supply for my pacer... that's another matter. Where's the "Energizer bunny" when you need him? Out drumming up more power!!! Alf

Hi: GerriJ... 45 Min. ride to London for a 15 min. appointment!!! Past the charge test; 27 months of battery life left, but I took off my glasses to put my sweater on... and Ooops.
Looks like another 45 Min. ride tomorrow. Alf
