Straight shot on I80 and you are not that far from Idaho Falls where the Andersen factory is located. Beautiful country there....

Perhaps this should be a new or different thread but we plan to travel down the Pacific coast from the mouth of the Columbia River to the Los Angeles area and are looking for advice on great campsites along the route and the "don't miss" sites to see. We have never been in that area and are looking froward to it later this year!

Northern California Coast sites

Hello casejh,

Like you, we also had Coleman tent trailers. However, with our new empty nest, it was time for us to get a hard sided trailer. We really love our Escape 21!

When we came down the coast, we stayed at place called Westport Beach RV Park. We camped right on the beach, and even had full hookups plus wifi. More info and pictures can be found at their website (https://westportbeachrvpark.squarespace.com/home).

If you are coming down from Oregon, to get to the Westport campground, you would take the Hwy 1 exit off 101 at the town of Leggett. The 15 miles from Leggett to the coast is super windy. We took it slow and did well, but it is one of the windier roads we have taken with a trailer.

That section of the California coast is gorgeous. As you continue south on Hwy 1, it is worth stopping in Ft Bragg (17 miles south of the campground). They have a very nice "Skunk Train" that we enjoyed a lot (https://www.skunktrain.com/).

As for seeing the giant redwoods, the "Avenue of the Giants" (south of Eureka on Hwy 101) is a great place to visit.

Happy Trails,

- The Bea Team

But Dave you didn't make it to the MB rally, could have been ten! How about this year? After that rally we plan to head to southern ON and see family on the way to the Maritimes, then on the way home catch both Niagara and Mississippi rallies.

Meanwhile in two months we head again south to Georgia and Florida for five-six weeks.

We are loading up the 21 to head out on the 15th for Florida and the first of two rallies. The Eggs and Smores rally at Live Oak is short being the 17th thru the 20th. With some time before the Sebring Scampcamp the 10th thru the 15th of February we are headed to our favorite spot, St. George Island. After Sebring it is time to slowly wander back up the east coast stopping at Little Talbot Island SP, Crooked River SP, and then on to Tybee Island to see friends. After that we head home with one stop somewhere between Savannah and Atlanta for a night or two.
Then the week starting with Memorial Day we head about 1 1/2 hours east for the Eggs on the Hiawassee rally. After that it will be time to plan a fall trip somewhere.
It's rough being retired but someone has to do it.

We went to the Anderson factory a few years ago with a problematic WD hitch. They helped us out.
