[QUOTE=Jim Bennett;39725]Shoulda come out for a walk up Nose Hill, Gabi. We were sweating by the time we got to the top, carrying our gloves.

If you don't embrace it and enjoy, then winter can be no fun at all. Not that I don't look forward to retiring, and Escaping a bit more. [/QUOTE

Lol..... Gosh your gloves must be heavy !]

I want to know why in the Winter and I have the home thermostat set at 65 degrees, I need to wrap up in a blanket and wear sweatpants/sweatshirt. But in the Summer, I can be outside in a t-shirt, sit in a lawn chair and drink a cold beer and be just fine.

Is it psychological?

Yes it is, but I think only Vicki is qualified to address this.

One of the benefits of real winter weather is classic "winter wonderland" scenery. We did get out to the off-leash park today, and here are a couple of quick photos... the colours were much nicer, but the images are limited by the time I was willing to take capturing them, the camera in my BlackBerry (or the not-a-camera, according to some ), and the small image size I chose for the forum:

I'm blaming you Canadians for our cold Texas weather. There seems to be nothing but a barbwire fence between us. Shut the back door please.. Burr

Even our "snow birds" in south Texas are unable to escape the cold of Iowa. I heard tonight that 80% of the US has snow cover Jim.

Portland, Oregon is finally up into the 40s. Thirty degrees warmer than five days ago. I'LL TAKE IT!
