Check your screws

I read some recent posts about broken screw-heads on new trailers, usually discovered under a propane tank. I looked at the problem area on my five week old 19 and everything looked good. Few days ago (while installing a shunt for battery monitoring) I removed my driver side battery (two 6-v configuration, no front box) and a screw head popped up. The batteries are held in place by two iron angles attached to the chassis with four self-tapping screws. I was also surprised with the amount of rust in the area. My 2015 15B had less rust in this area than this new one, disappointing.

POR 15 will take care of the rust.

I've had my trailer for two years now and still find areas that need touchup.

Surprised. Both battery trays are welded to the frame on my 2017 - 17B.

Yes, when ordering the 17 with solar and dual batteries, Escape has to extend and make custom battery trays for the rear, thus the need to specify when ordering.
