Greetings all. Heading to Chilliwack to pick up a new to us 2008 17B. Wondering where most of you stay when in town to pick up your trailers. Thanks in advance for any advice.

We stayed at the Hampton in right down the street from Escape Trailers. It is a new facility and very nice.

The Best Western is a short walk to Escape.

Vicki and I stayed at the Best Western when we went to ETI the end of April. Standard Best Western stuff, clean, quiet, two restaurants and a Tim Horton's in the parking lot. Yep, short walk to ETI.

The Hampton was our choice for several reasons, it was a bit cheaper than the Best Western, even using our senior discount and it included a free breakfast that was quite good. Seeing as we had an eight o'clock orientation and it was raining the decision turned out to be a good one.

The Hampton is brand new and may not show up on some maps or inside some booking sites. Very interesting architecture and where it is located it almost appears like a rain forest.

We stayed at Best Western-I think if you tell them you are picking up an Escape there is a discount.

Best Western does give a discount to ETI customers and they're pet friendly.

We stayed at the Best Western in Chilliwack with our two terriers. Everyone had a good time, and we got the ETI discount, which we spent on doggie treats. I'm pretty sure the pet-friendly rooms, however, are on the exterior of the hotel, and not facing the atrium.

That worked out okay for us. I think Tyler and Wally would have barked at every patron walking through the atrium. And we all would have been banished to the parking lot.

Since we're spending $30K on hopefully our last trailer, we're celebrating starting the night before pickup by staying at the Riverside B&B.

Gotta celebrate the really good things in life.............

We stayed in the Chilliwack Best Western with Murphy-the-Dog, and had no problems.

The article Cypherion linked to is about the Best Western in Baton Rouge, LA. As near as I can figure, Best Western is really a branding and marketing arrangement among several motels, most of which seem to be locally owned. As a result, there isn't much consistency in policy or quality of these motels. Our experiences have been pretty uneven, and ordinarily I would prefer to stay someplace else. But the one in Chilliwack was fine, and we will probably stay there (along with Murphy-the-Dog) in Sept.

I'm thinking 'Best Western' is really a franchise. What happens (or is acceptable) in one location may not be in another. CHECK! Kinda like KOAs.

Still, denying a family their reservation due to a Service Dog is so wrong... YMMV And that location is going to pay dearly due to social media.

Agree. Lots of people looking at the video and wondering "what were they thinking?" As my mother would have said, "not the brains God left for geese". And not much of a heart either.

I called the Best Western in March when I picked up my Escape. They have a pound limit on dogs, I think it was 20 lbs. Since miy dog is 72 lbs I didn't stay there

Things must have changed, we had no problem with the 60 pound Elkhound two years ago.

As for that Best Western add to the fact the Mom is A LAWYER !!
A representative from Best Western International sent Yahoo Shine the following statement: "We provide extensive training to ensure our hotels understand and address the needs of guests with special needs. When this matter came to our attention, we immediately provided direction to the hotel and a reservation was offered to the family. We deeply regret the matter and we will continue to proactively communicate ADA requirements and training to Best Western branded hotels to ensure all guests are treated with the utmost dignity and respect. Further, we have restricted the hotel on our reservations systems and we have required the hotel to stop representing itself as a Best Western branded hotel (cover or remove all Best Western signs and logos) until its representatives attend a hearing at our corporate headquarters at which their future association with Best Western will be decided."

Pays to pay attention to your business.
A very large dairy operation in Chilliwack is currently dumping their milk after a animal rights group sent in an under-cover operative with video. He/she shot video of employees beating cows with rakes and chains to make them move ( or just for the heck of it ).
Now, they can't sell their milk to anybody, but they still have to feed and milk the cows. Eight employees, facing charges of animal cruelty, have been fired.
Anybody want to buy a cheap dairy farm?
