We still have between 1' & 2' of snow cover, and Lake Ontario is iced over as far out as you can see. I'm really looking forward to our first official sign of Spring - the opening of Rudy's fish stand on the lake. (Scroll down for some 2012 opening photos, and no, they don't serve Poutine!) They are going to have to do a lot of plowing; right now you can't even see the lake from the road.
Just ordered Rearview cameras from NY and Fed-ex said there could be a problem due to storms.

With apologies to our friends north of the 49th parallel. Apparently the world ends there.
Well if the map is correct Alan, we have a 30 to 40 percent increased probability of above average temps during most of our trip. Good news.

As a follow up, for non-lower foam trailer owners at FUP campsites:

As mentioned here by several, being "slightly" below freezing is no problem, especially if daytime highs go up above freezing by a margin. Dennis expressed an opinion that over night lows going down to the single digits Celsius would be acceptable, if there was night time heating of the trailer space (darn right!) .... this assumed that days got into the teens to warm up the tanks.

Stronger measures for lower average overnight temps, as per CPAHarley's (and others) posts, would be in order.

I have had no problems so far with my exposed pipes to an estimated -5*C. (knocks on wood).

Just a short trip, about 3 weeks. Have some friends in Palm Springs who invited us down, wife signed up for the Laughlin 1/2 Marathon so we will make a trip out of it. We have not done the snow bird thing yet but maybe this will entice her a bit..... Besides, it has been a pretty mild winter for us.

What the heck is the FUP I keep seeing? Have I been kept sheltered all these years? LOL

I too have camped down below -5C, with daytime highs near 10C, and have had no problems with tanks freezing. One time at Thanksgiving (the Canadian one), on the last morning I went to drain tanks to begin the winterization, and the drain hose was sorta frozen. I warmed it with my hands a bit, and waited a short while, and it freed up.

So how does FUP become Full Hook Up?
Full Up? No sites available?
