If toilet paper is installed, make sure it is dispensing property, off the top of the roll.

Do you still get individual time to inspect your trailer or go over a check list before you sign off to accept it?

My experience May this year was one on one in the room with components on the wall that are functioning, that can be installed into trailer. ETI employee has your build sheet and they go over all the components that have been installed by ETI.

I also had some time in my trailer with same staff after they had hooked up my trailer to my tow vehicle. While I was inside signing the paperwork, they unhooked my tow vehicle and hooked the trailer to delivery truck that will cross the border.

Radiant Heater

As noted the unit is a radiant heater, the elements are coils inside a glass tube,
The unit has four element in place, electronically controlled.
The fan unit is a smalll squiral cage fan about 2” X 8”.

Power is 110ac, draw is about 11amps on high heat and about 6amps on low heat.

In the confines of a 19 footer, heating is more than adequate,
Wonderful thing about it it is totally quiet.
We purchased the heater at Home Depot.

The heater as purchased is in a wood cabinet.

My thoughts,!
The guts of the unit is housed in a 12 X12 X12 cube.
I have had the heater for a few years now so took it apart, to clean it out prior to using it.
Without the cabinet it can be installed in the storage box, facing out to the sink.
Just a matter of cutting out a pattern on the end of the cabinet.
With the remote it can be controlled from the bed.

As noted it is very quiet, not at tall like the propane heater.

Thanks for explaining, I think they are called quartz infrared heaters, been around for awhile. I'm always looking for a radiant heater for inside.

If you have water and propane:
1. check plumbing for leaks and bypass valve installation
2. check operation of remotes and wind sensor
4. if solar, verify wet cell and single battery
5. all lights operation
6. steps, door, regulator properly adjusted
7. check tires and lug nuts
Not an all inclusive list, please pay attention at orientation...

Yes, you will have time to inspect your trailer. A check list would be beneficial. When I purchased my 17 last year all the extra pieces (sewer hose, electrical adapter, etc), where in the trailer. Now all the extra components are on a table next to the trailer. I was on sensory overload trying to process everything that was happening, and I missed the fact that the stabilizer jack wrench was missing.

In addition to the orientation it should be noted that the lug nuts, tire pressures, WDH and stinger threaded components, spare tire mount, stabilizer. Jacks and other components need checked after a couple days of use or a few hundred miles of towing. It’s my feeling that getting a fine tune adjustment on tensions of the WDH will change with loaded weights, balance, tire pressures etc. Whether you have an Escape or another brand or other type of rig, due diligence in pre- departure preparations each day you move is of paramount importance. No YMMV here.

The heating element in this unit are wire coils, inside glass tubes.
I stripped the unit down , to clean out the cobwebs, before turning it on.
The thought did occur to me, that if the elements ,ever dod burn out, they could be easily replaced, with elements from a toaster, for example.
It was when I had the guts out of the cabinetry, the thought occurred, I could use it in the trailer.

Thanks to all....

...for sharing your experiences.

We will be picking up our new 19' late this month, so reading about potential problems and having a check list is great.

It's been a bit sobering to read that our new baby probably won't be perfect, but also encouraging to read that ETI has been responsive and worked with folks to resolve problems.

The good news is that most items are small annoyances, nothing major that wold prevent you from enjoying your new Escape.

and dont be a dummy and let ETI store the extra custom flooring roll that may be left over under the front bed on a 21

as it'll make your hitch weight WAY over

ask me how i know.

luckily i figured this out within hours... the next morning when checking hitch weight.

Shureline 1,000 lb scale, for the win.

a must have item, i think.

What kind of flooring did you use? Lead sheeting? Granite pavers?

If you get a 4 pin connector wired at the back of the trailer for cargo rack lights, etc I would suggest checking the proper operation with a tester. The reason this gets messed up is explained here: http://www.escapeforum.org/forums/f8...tml#post145608

One of these is handy...
https://www.etrailer.com/Wiring/Brophy/F4CT.html

I realize this may be rarely done now with the upper tail light option available.
