Custom carpet runners...any recommendations?

Hi Everyone,
I'd like some feedback from anyone who has purchased custom or semi-custom carpet runners for their Escape. We have a new 21 and would like to have a removable runner to take the edge off the cold floor. Thanks in advance, Mark

A 24" x 72" and matching 24" x 30" from Target work for us... I don't spend too much and replace them when they get beat up.

No need to get custom rugs. There are rag-type rugs sold quite a few places in countless designs and colors. With many pets, we were used to having such rugs all over at home that could be picked up and washed easily. It is probably better not to get a long runner because smaller ones will go into a washer easier including while traveling, as we sometimes have had to wash them on longer trips. We have waffle-type underlays for them.

Okay- listen up! Just got word from LeonW with vendor source for their very cool & sturdy runner & doormat- LL Bean Everyspace Waterhog....how's that for a descriptive name?

Saw them and they're great; order going in manana

We've used ones from Costco and their good, but this one allows a continuous run like the Camping World item that Jim mentioned with matching door mat. Having owned that peppercorn one I can say the LL Bean is far sturdier.

I went to a local carpet store and found a remnant (@ $60) in the color I wanted. Very good quality carpet. For an additional $70 they cut it into 2 pieces in the dimensions I supplied and bound (put the standard edge found on carpets) it. One is in my 5.0TA, the other in my attic to serve as a replacement if needed. When traveling, if it gets dirty, we take it outside and shake out the sand. Fits well, wirks well, and keeps our feet warm.

The issue with carpet remnants is weight, the 3 piece set probably weighs less than one runner.Plus for the price, I'd replace every 2 years the set, it is always on sale.

I suppose that depends upon how one defines "issue." I just weighed my spare carpet. At 4-1/2 lbs. it would, IMO, not be much of an issue at all. And given that I paid $37,500 Canadian ($30,000+ US) for my 5.0TA, $65 apiece for a well fitting carpet vs. sale price for capets with manufacturer decided dimensions and colors from some box store did not seem to pricey to me. Also, not sure why you would replace yours every two years Jim. It seems to me that you replace trailers long before your projected schedule for replacing carpets comes into play! LOL!!!

One caveat on the Waterhog runners. They are truly great for what they were designed for. Boy, do they hold water. However, if they are in a small indoor space where you are walking on them a lot they tend to be pretty damp on your bare or stocking feet because they do hold water - like here in the Pacific Northwet .

look on amazon, they have runners cut to specific sizes, inexpensive. Also, check out Flor, they are tiles and you can create your own design, can also replace tiles if they were out....

I've also used the Flor carpet tiles. Handy when you're in a wet/muddy spot trying to change a tire - just pull one off the floor - gives you something to sit/kneel on!

This will work for me. You can't beat the price either.
