Definition of a fiberglass egg
I see a number of Egg themed rally's around the country, 5th wheels certainly don't fit my idea of an egg shape, white yes, egg shaped, not that I've ever seen. A 21' Escape or 25' Bigfoot are stretching things a bit too. Would all be welcomed at such events? Are all fiberglass trailers considered Eggs?
Disclaimer: I'm on the list for a summer 5TA.

Most events are fiberglass events. The Eggscursion we put on in Tennessee even has Egg in the name but we welcome anyone. We even get a few stick builts.
There are a few out there though so may be best to ask the host just to make sure.

I host or co-host three events in the State of Oregon. The Spring NOG, Fall NOG and the Oregon Gathering. While "small plastic" trailers (tongue-in-cheek) bring us together, it's always ALL about the people. A very large percentage of participants are all molded towable owners (Egg people), but we welcome looky-lous, wannabees and anyone else who wants to get involved in the fun. Snobs we are not. Come join us!

Bob,
I think the term "fiberglass egg" was coin years ago when the average molded fiberglass egg was 13'. They resembled eggs then so it stuck. That was followed by egg named trailers, and egg jokes, pictures, and such. Now the fiberglass trailers are evolving into larger shapes that do not resemble eggs. The 17 is the new small. Like Donna said, it's all about people. I like to refer them as family. And when you buy a molded fiberglass RV, it comes with a family if you accept us.

Also now that we have moved up from a Casita 17 to a Escape 19 we have already been the brunt of a lot of jokes and poking from our fiberglass friends. Things like they have to have their camera on panorama to take a picture of our camper now or look at the dinosaur Egg. It's because we are all such good friends and all have the same things in common that we enjoy it and give it right back to them. Just makes for a little more fun. We have had both Escape and Scamp fifth wheels and BIG Big Foots and never had a second thought about them not being an Egg or being welcome. Heck we even let Alf attend.

Although the "egg" term came from both the shell structure and the shape of early examples (notably the Boler 1300), it always seems to apply to any trailer with a moulded fiberglass structural shell. The Trillium and related designs (including Escape) are less egg-shaped, and some are outright boxy... but they're still "eggs". Some meets are brand-specific (and yet likely let in other similar brands), and my guess is that non-branded meets typically welcome even the squarest "egg".

Hi: padlin... The "Niagara Wine Escape" in Sept. isn't just about Escapes, Wine, or Niagara... It's about them all!!! Just like Bolerama in July, we welcome everyone and fun is the result.
Eggs have shells and so do fiberglass trailers. Now a days they come in many more shapes and sizes from small to extra large to even Jumbo size. Come and join us when you can. Why we'd even let Tom. Alf

Very good, if it's got a shell, it's an egg.
Thanks all,

And to add... If it's fiberglass it can crack if hit or abused just like an egg.

My "egg" normally has two yolk in the middle, because it is just no fun with one yolk! Ha!
