dimensions and measurements

Hi, all!

I'm sure it's on the Forum somewhere but I've tried a bunch of searches to no avail. like aisle width and width and interior width, etc. I need some simple quick measurements, if anyone is standing around in their trailer.

We are picking up our Escape 17b on June 27, a mere 34 days and 18+ hours from now. As we assemble our take-along list, we still find ourselves puzzling about some of the sizes, shapes, etc.

Does anyone have the interior floor space dimensions? From front dinette to rear dinette? And side to side too? What standard size floor rug fits well?

What's the diameter of the tongue jack shaft?

And the sink/stove unit? Front to back and side to side.

Thanks to all you whose guidance we have sought, read and pondered during the past year, as we contemplated our very own Escape.

Klaus

Re: dimensions and measurements

I'm I can't assist with the 17B's dimensions, but suggest you can wait until you get your trailer for some of the purchases. Rest assured the toilet paper holder is a standard size.

Re: dimensions and measurements

I am reluctant to supply measurements, because my trailer is 3 years old and things change.

You will also change. I suggest you live with the trailer for a while before you start customizing it. I can give you the floor measurements in mine, but if you then buy a rug for the entry and the screen door won't open, you won't be happy.

And, above all. Drill no holes until you are absolutely convinced that you have to have that item in that place.

For instance, you might install a TV mount, and then decide that an iPad could serve for viewing movies, etc, that it is lighter, more portable, etc.

However, if you really do want a TV mount, you can have mine. I'll bring it to the Escape rally in Osoyoos.

Have you drilled any holes in your trailer yet?

Re: dimensions and measurements

I did.

After ensuring that the second magnetic knife holder I'd purchased was the one I wanted, and after using double-sided tape to 'test drive' it, I did make two small holes to secure it. Of course, I first investigated, to determine the wall thickness to make sure that I didn't drill through it and the shower enclosure.

I intend to drill two more holes to secure the paper-towel holder that has been stuck to the underside of the cupboard above the sink for three years now. I just have to work out what fasteners to use since I don't want screw tips protruding into the cupboard.

Way to go Glenn, we all knew that eventually you would succumb to the urge to drill...
As for the paper towel holder try pop rivets and washers on the wood side so they don't pull through.

Re: dimensions and measurements

And then maybe hot-glue a cap of some sort to the 'nasty' end of the rivet? Or maybe just a machine screw with a cap-type nut?

I don't want any rough edges on the inside of the cupboard.

Re: dimensions and measurements

A hint for carpet pieces. We luckily visited a local carpet store just as they were getting rid of their samples. The gave us as many as we wanted for free. As a result, we have handy little "throw rugs" just small trailer size.
