Either position the side with the frig. facing north, or position the side with the frig. facing south, but with the awning deployed to shade the wall outside the frig. Of course, there may be an issue with wind direction and velocity, that influences your preferences.

Not all layouts have the frig on the awning side..

In hot weather whatever you can do to keep the frig in the shade is going to help. IF one side of the trailer is going to be in the sun, based on sun movement... choose the frig to be in the sun in the cooler morning and shaded in the hot afternoon sun.
