Probably a poor day to go boondocking.

You said you are getting your trailer. Which one and what options do you suggest for your situation.
I think I have read every post in this forum and all of the Ideas I have had so far are gleaned from the threads that all of you together have posted, realy nothing original on my part.

Would like to read your thoughts

Doug

Hi Doug,

My trailer is a 2011, 17' Escape Plan B. The options I went for are:

window over sink
air conditioner
dual propane
propane quick connect
ext. 110v outlet
ext. access hatch - rear passenger side
ext. shower
extra insulation w/thermal windows
gaucho bunk
hitch wheel
high lift axle
LineEx front and wheel wells
custom closet - 2 shelves and access door on bottom right when entering trailer
tv ready
stove cover
sliding table
2 way H2O tank
SS sink and tap
removable power cord
starter kit
12v outlet inside

I'm hoping to get over to Chilliwack at the end of next week or the beginning of the following one. My almost 5 year old named our trailer...guess what it's going to be called ...."Trailer" you gotta like that!!

I'm towing it with my short box 2005 GMC Sierra Crew Cab truck.

Cheers,
Nadia

Sounds exciting Nadia, you are going to have great fun with it.

I gotta warn your daughter though, she may be infringing on a copyright there. We already call our trailer, "The Trailer".

Re: EEEEEEE!!!!! My trailer is almost ready.......

Nadia;

Children are honest, they call it as it is.

Looks like you went for the whole list of options, should be great to travel with.
I did not see the high lift axles on our option list, I may have gone for that.
looks like I might settle for a larger set of wheels, but will see how the ones that come with the trailer work out on our roads.

Question have you ever or anyone ever, had problems getting on and off the ferries with their trailers dragging as they leave the ramp.

Nadia, looks like you chose well enjoy

Doug

Re: EEEEEEE!!!!! My trailer is almost ready.......

I have pulled mine on and off several different ferries.
I can see a problems if it were low tide and a high angle of departure,
for the ramp.
You can measure your angle of departure for your own trailer.
Then check online or phone the ferry your worried about
for the angle of approach/departure.
Then if needbe take action.

Hi Nadia,

your Escape seems to have the same options as our eventual, pre-embryonic, 17B.

One question: what is the "2 way H20 tank"? Is it both an inny and an outy? How does it compare to the stock potable water tank? I have about a month to finalize my option list.

Like Doug, honk going thru 100 Mile (If your hauling "Trailer")

Re: EEEEEEE!!!!! My trailer is almost ready.......

The two-way water heater warms with either propane or electricty. I highly recommend it...if you camp where there is electricity, you will reduce your propane usage. For a similar reason, I opted for the exterior shower...hot water for washing dishes and warm to rinse off the muddy pups.

Ah! It must have been a Friday brain-dead moment. Two way HOT H2O tank....

I was thinking of the holding tank underneath the Escape

Re: EEEEEEE!!!!! My trailer is almost ready.......

ah, yes, in my shear excitement yesterday when I posted I omitted the word 'hot' in the description....my bad. I see you all figured it out anyhow...

Jim: actually it is my son who named our trailer "Trailer" and I think we can get around that copyright stuff, you see, ours has been dubbed just "Trailer", not "The Trailer".....

I plan on having alot of fun in "Trailer"...hopefully we'll see some of you folks around at some campgrounds.

Cheers,
Nadia

Re: EEEEEEE!!!!! My trailer is almost ready.......

Elizabeth Taylor is an aging, almost deceased, famous Hollywood star.

Elizabeth Trailer is her reincarnation.

Re: EEEEEEE!!!!! My trailer is almost ready.......

Ha, ha, ha, I get it...yes...Elizabeth Taylor...ha, ha, ha.... a bit before my time

although I did recognize her recently on TV....

Jim: I'd love to go to the Escape Rally this year...I have this thing called 'work' that gets in my way. Osoyoos is one of my most favourite places to go...but unlike some, I love being there when it is so hot it 'melts your face'.... hence why I got the air conditioner on my "Trailer". I work in the school system and I finish work in the middle of June...taking a bunch of time off just before summer holidays may not be such a good idea...unless of course someone at work peeves me off....

When you posted your options and you said you were getting an Escape Plan B I thought;

Has any one named their trailer.

"The Escape" Plan "B"

Good luck with your trailer, and have fun in wineland

Re: EEEEEEE!!!!! My trailer is almost ready.......

Too bad you could not make it, it was a great time last year. If traveling a bit of a distance like us, traveling there on Friday is kinda needed. Unlike you, I hate melting, thus most of my camping, whether by boat, foot or trailer, is done in the mountains.

It seems counter-intuitive to install an airconditioner if you love 'melts your face' off heat One of the pleasant memories of New York City last summer was the pleasantly humid 35 C (100 F?) heat. My wife hated it but I could have stayed just for that.

After we first ordered our trailer (a 15b) the only date available was mid-August. As this is a 'stay in Canada' summer (we are on a 2 year holiday cycle) we booked Mt Robson for a week and Bowron Lakes for a week. Then we changed our mind on the 15 and asked Reace for the twofootitis option - we also got an early July date. We'll still stick with the backpacking and canoeing plans but now there will be an Escape parked in the parking lots at each venue. Maybe I'll stick Escape pamphlets in the door.

Enjoy "Trailer" or what ever you decide to call it (her?him?). Ours will be simply 'Ping and I believe its a she.

Have a good day (its -27C here in the Hundred right at this moment - I love the pics of the Escape on the Sea of Cortez on the forum and/or website!!!)

Re: EEEEEEE!!!!! My trailer is almost ready.......

I love the 'melt your face' off heat...not so good for an almost 5 year old though, gotta keep the kiddie cool 8) ...when it gets too hot outside.

Yes, I am looking forward to exploring and camping in the mountains too, and the lakes and the rivers, the different towns and the west coast beaches and maybe even in the backyard! You never know, I just may show up at the rally...all depends on being able to get away from work.

Cheers,
Nadia

You might have trouble getting your trailer around the Bowron Lake Circuit. Last winter I tried talking Dirk (mosquitodirk on here) into it when we skied the circuit, but to no avail.
