Escape 17 and people waiting on 19&21's
A couple questions for y'all. It seems quite a few people that own or are getting escapes have, or used to have, casitas. I'm still in the pondering stage and really want to see both in person before I decide what I want. Could anyone tell me how much more isle space, if any, is in the escape 17 vs the casita 17?
The other question I have is for those that have orders in for 19&21' Escapes and are holding on to their 17 or 19' until the new one is done next year or end of 16. My timeline for buying isn't until the very end of this year or sometime next year if I finally get to see them and decide which will work best for me. I really want to buy the TV before I get the trailer and as I plan on buying it used it may take me a bit to find what I want, am planning on traveling with a Great Dane so a van is going to be the most practical for me plus give me more storage space. So my question is are y'all planning on selling your current 17 or 19 after or around the time of getting your new one? It doesn't really make sense for me to be actively shopping ATM (even tho I'm constantly looking and drooling over some of them) as I don't have the TV and I'm not planning on buying either til at least after I finish the current contract job sometime end of this year. Anyway just some thoughts I had....

ChrisAnn,
You can contact Escape Trailer Inc and they will give you the name and phone numbers to people in your area who are willing to show their trailers to you. Just click on the link to the left and then the contact link there.

ChrisAnn,
Timing is everything, selling a convertible in the spring instead of winter goes the same for your camper, sell during the season. Offseason will reduce your price. I sold my 21' Escape in March and will be out of a trailer until later this year or early next. If I waited then my price would have been adjusted. With the way Escape is selling better get in line. You can always see one in person after that.

ChrisAnn,
If you put a wanted ad in the classified section, stating the time frame you are looking at, it is possible you may find someone willing to sell you their trailer on a similar time frame. We're selling our 17 to a couple in September as that is when our last trip of the year will be and that works well for them too.

But what happens if they change their mind before then, also what about placing your order with Escape, with a 12 month lead time for a new one a lot can happen, plus there is the exchange rate fluctuation. I have already paid for my new Escape due to the favorable exchange rate, something you can do if you sell the old one first.

Jim, excellent concerns. The folks who are buying Blue offered a downpayment and the interest I got when I only mentioned we were thinking of selling made me confident that Blue would be an easy sell. I'm still watching exchange rates and can make payments anytime.
