Escape 5.0 TA Questions

My wife and I where looking at the 5.0 TA online today and came up with couple of questions that maybe some of you 5.0 TA owner could answer .
Thanks
Mark

1. What is the distance from the edge of the mattress to the ceiling? Basically if you're sitting on the edge of the bed how much head clearance do you have?
2. Now if your are laying down in the bed how much head clearance do you have above your head to the ceiling?
3. Where did you locate your TV in the trailer and can it be seen from both the bed and dinette?
4. Can you feel the A/C blowing on when you are laying down on the bed?

I didn't take measurements, but will tell you my height (5'10") and experience in the locations you're asking about.

1. I can easily sit up with plenty of room about my head. If fact, I can stand on the second step down and still not touch the ceiling.
2. I can easily sit up without making contact with the ceiling.
3. You can wire the Trailer for two locations using only one TV. The mount sold by ETI has two mounts for the wall and one removable and adjustable arm for the TV. You simply move the TV to your desired location. ETI wired the bed area on the passenger side and the dinette area on the driver's side. I put one mount on the refer wall and one on the divider between the cabinet on the right side of the entry.
4. Yes, the A/C has vents so you can direct the air in any direction.

Measurements

#1 = 37"

#2 = 31-32" I'm 5'11" and have 2" memory foam pad on mattress. If I sit totally erect, I can just feel the ceiling. Measurements taken without memory foam.

#3 = not sure, don't have TV in trailer, but agree with previous answer on possible mounting locations.

#4 = yes, especially if you only open toward bedroom

Thanks guys looks like for a 6.0 ft person I would have no problems both sitting on the edge of the bed and sitting up on the bed mattress. I am glad to hear there's plenty of AC flow to the bed area. Now here is a loaded question how is the noise level from the A/C unit in the upper bed area? To me the noise from the A/C unit in the Escape 19 queen bed area is horrible. I am hoping that some one who has owned both trailers could tell if the noise leve is the same or maybe less because it being farther away from the AC unit.

Mark,
One way to reduce any noise is to get the digital thermostat upgrade, it has a low fan and low cool option which keeps noise down anywhere in the unit.

Hi Jim,
We do have the digital thermostat upgrade option and you are right it does help a lot to run the AC in low-speed. The first few camping trips with our trailer I did not realize that the low-speed could be used with the AC I thought it could only be used in the fan mode. I first found out about running the AC on low fan speed here on this forum last fall after the hot summer was over

Never having a 19 I can't compare but on high it's just plain too loud, low works okay though, I can sleep with it. For the size of the trailer I have yet to experience a time when low was not enough. The A/C probably cools better then the fridge.

Hi MARKVT. My wife and I just completed 2200 miles in our new T.A. traveling through California, Central Oregon, Southern Idaho, and back home to Palm Desert California. We learned a few things along the way and I may be able to answer some of your questions about the 5.0 T.A. The short version - it's a great trailer with some pretty sophisticated equipment.

We've had ours for 13 months- it runs great.
We do most our camping off-grid, and the 5.0TA is a fine set-up.

Seems they are only selling with the thermostat now for 2016.
We added it.
