Escape 5th wheel bath vent

It appears the new 21' Escape is using the same black round powered vent that is installed in the Escape 5th wheel. Having never seen one, can anyone answer (1) can the vent be left open without the power vent operating and (2) does this vent let in any light when open or shut? Your answers will help me decide if I should order an extra window in the bath. thanks

Hi: cpaharley2008... 1- Yes 2- Yes to both... and rain if open then, but in the shower/bathroom that's not to much of a problem. Alf

You can leave the vent open, but there's not much light from it. We had the window added and it's great.

Hi: cpaharley2008... The only thing that happened to ours so far is the switch quit working. I found a replacement push on push off for $3.95 and took all of 15 min. to change. No big deal...it wasn't even on my "Honey Do" list!!! Alf
