Three more Escapes sighted.

This Sunday, on our way to Chilliwack, we spotted 3 more Escapes on I-84 heading East. We were on our way from Salt Lake to Seattle. We saw a 17' and 19' in Idaho, east of Boise. They were a only about 30 minutes apart. Then, in Oregon, near La Grande, we saw another 19. They were all heading East.
We are wondering if they are heading East for some rally?

Where are you guys?

If you've got too many Escape trailers in your area, just invite us down for a visit and they will magically disappear.

For the third time in a row we have been out with our 21' for a multi-week trip and haven't seen a single Escape on the highway or in our campgrounds.

During the past three weeks we've gone from Vancouver Island to Bodega Bay, CA, without spotting any fine craftsmanship from Chilliwack. The molded fiberglass count stands at three Bigfoots, two Casitas, two Bolers, but zero Escapes.

Perhaps all the Escapees headed to Canada this year to enjoy the free access to national parks. Or maybe owners are keeping their Escapes in storage so they will remain "mint in box" like a Barbie or a superhero action figure.

Anyway, if you are towing or camping in your Escape somewhere and spot a couple of seniors overreacting to seeing your trailer, that'll be us.

Happy travels!

On Friday, 9/8, we were driving west on Interstate 16 out of Savannah GA, we passed a 21 being towed by an F150 (Texas tags). While the traffic on I-16 was not bad, it was horrible when we got on I-75 northbound with what appeared to be the entire state of FL and most of Coastal Georgia. I hope you did not get stuck in it. A normal 7 1/2 hour trip took us 14 hours that day.

Looks like the word is out Alf, we've got suprise attendees all the way from the west coast coming to the Falls. It's not just some Rally, it's some Kinda Rally with a capital K and breakfast at Betty's on Sunday morning. Kicked the tires and lit the fires this AM, bringing a big bag full of great weather and cold beer.

I 90 Eastbound New York State Escape 19 Green

On my way west today heading for Chilliwack to pick up Wild Thing! I saw an Escape 19 with green graphics on Interstate 90 heading Eastbound. I was too excited to see the tow vehicle but it was 10:25 AM around exit 318 in New York just past the Junius Ponds Service Area. Such an auspicious sight as I head out to pick up my new baby! Howdy Ho!

We were Westbound on I80 at about 4:30 near mile marker 205 going in to North Platte, NE.
Almost missed what I think was an Escape 19, blue graphics, heading east bound. Always cool spotting one. That occurred yesterday.

On Sept 7th passed a 21 headed south on I5 with red graphics. Pulled by a grey Tundra. 2 bikes on the back

I was the gal in the blue Tundra pulling a 21 with cat graphics honking at ya.

I forget exactly where it was now but I had left Chehalis that AM so it was soon after that, I believe. Too many days and miles ago to remember exactly.

Visited briefly with DPWV from West Virginia in the Wal-Mart parking lot in Laramie, Wyoming this morning. They are on their way to Rocky Mountain National Park with their 2016 21.

We saw an Escape going through St.Germain, Wisconsin Thursday afternoon at about 2PM. I was just coming out of Cathy's Ice Cream shop after filling a water bottle. George was near the road with his bicycle and waved. We didn't see it long enough to determine the size, but know it wasn't a 5.0TA. It sure was pretty up there with leaves just starting to turn. We were camped at Crystal Lake.

So was my ice cream any good?

Well, I was not pulling the mysterious Escape but we do spend a month each summer at Crystal Lake. With Wisconsin State Park rules you can only occupy a site for two weeks, vacate for two and then another two weeks. We have spent the last 46 years camping at Crystal Lake. Do you think we like it?

We were just down the road in Sayner on Tuesday night, without Escape, but with a dozen college friends. We partook in the very good pizza at the Sayner Pub. Liebo, who owns it, originates from a block down the street where we live. We know the family well. On Wednesday evening we switched to the north end of the trail and dinner at Smokey's in Manitowish Waters. We think the best eating establishment in the area.

The Heart of Vilas County Paved Bike Trail System, as it is now officially called, is a hidden gem in that area. With 49 miles of paved trail and hundreds of miles of off trail county roads it is an excellent biking area. We started mountain biking in the 70's but by the early 90's moved to exclusive road biking. Too many face plants on those mountain bike trails.

Delicious! The ice cream and the excitement of actually seeing another Escape in that neck of the woods energized me enough to pedal the last 17 miles back to the campground! Beautiful bike trails up there for those that like to bike. We rode just over 100 miles in 2 days, I would gladly go back and do it again, but maybe in 3 days next time, and there are lots more trails that we didn't get onto. Crystal clear lakes too, but the water has gotten a bit too chilly for us to swim now.

Escape 19 in Rapid City

While fueling up at 9:30 this morning we spotted a 2017 19 footer in Rapid City, SD with Montana plates.
Owners went into Denny's for breakfast.
Wanted to chat with them, however, did not want to interrupt their meal.
Cheers!

Yesterday, as we were coming back from Bar Harbor, Maine, we passed a (maybe)19' just outside of Ellsworth. Pulled by a (maybe) brownish-pewter (maybe) Tundra. We were too busy waving and honking to tell specifically and exactly what size it was and what it was being pulled by. Anyhow, hello whomever you were!
