Grand Canyon
Another E19 joined us today at Trailer Village inside Grand Canyon National Park. Nice to meet the owners and swap Escape travel stories.

We're at Fort Flagler state park. Two other 21s here on Friday when we pulled in.

Devils Lake State Park Wisconsin
Much to our surprise we saw our first Escape in the wild. Met a very nice couple from Maine in their 2020 17B after showing them the correct entrance to the park. Had a short tour of their camper and a nice but brief discussion about the Escape buying process etc. (Our build date is still a year away).
Also spotted a rare Oliver Legacy 2 and several Scamps in the same campground that has been full of giant 5th wheel stickies and $300k class A's all summer long. Nice to see the "real" campers come out after Labor Day.

We have only been seriously looking at Escape trailers since July this year or so and have been on a look out for them since then. Only saw a couple in passing on our way to the Escape Showroom in Chilliwack at the end of August.
Joldy at Escape suggested we look into "Adventures in NoMadness" on YouTube to see what life in a E21C is like. https://www.youtube.com/c/Adventures...dness/featured
Back at home in Fort St. John a few weeks later we were excited to see a Escape 21 when we were getting groceries at Safeway. Turns out it was Angie and Ronda with their 21C!
Seeing that a 21C can survive life in the north make us stop procrastinating on our down payment...we are now waiting on our 21C in May 2023.

My wife and I were at Fish Creek Campground in NY State in our Escape 21 and came across a couple from Fla in another 21. I felt it was a likely as two whales meeting in the ocean!

We spend time there every summer and have yet to see one. So, your description of the whales meeting is spot on. Talked to an owner of a Bigfoot up there a couple of years ago. Also had a prospective Escape owner drive down from Montreal pre-Covid to see ours.

In Cottonwood Campground, Joshua Tree NP, went hiking and exploring for several hours only to return to find a sibling parked next to us! Each of us made site reservations independently from each other six months ago, Pat and Jim from VT, and us from the Olympic Peninsula. Both with a 2017 E19. We never knew each other before! Pat and Jim are on an extended nine-month tour of the US, we're on a month long trip visiting friends and family. We all hope to run into more fellow Escapees along our routes.

Though it’s been 55 years I still vividly recall a billboard along the highway that ran through my home town proclaiming “You meet the nicest people on a Honda” back when the little step through Hondas swept the nation.
Since then I’ve been a lot of miles, some of them on my 1967 Honda 305 Super Hawk. And eventually met a lot of nice people who owned fiberglass trailers. That Honda slogan runs through my aging brain every once in a while with a tip of the hat to the owners of Escape, Bigfoot, Boler, Scamp,Casita and other trailers.

I haven't thought of that marketing slogan in a long time! I think it is very applicable to paraphrase it as, "You meet the nicest people in a fiberglass (fibreglass?) trailer!" At least the folks I've met along the way. We even had an Oliver honk and wave at us as we turned past each other in Gila Bend yesterday.
Safe travels all,
Doug

A friend called this morning to tell me there was a 2017 21C at the Elk's Log in Festus, MO.
I took a drive over and had the opportunity to meet a very nice Escapee from Michigan who was heading to Southwest MO. She has been living in it full time for 3 year with her little cute dog and knows her stuff about her Escape.
You might know her because she has a modified twin bed setup instead of the standard bed. Very cool!

One could hardly call what we do 'real' camping.

Yep. Grew up RVing. I backpacked and climbed when I “grew up.” Moved to rural Alaska. As I got older, I decided a fresh salad and running water would be nice when I came out of the bush for the summer since any fresh food in the winter was only what you shot. Everything else was dry or canned. So we bought an Alaskan pop up pickup camper to live in during the summers. We had a refrigerator, bed off the ground, and a place to get dry. Eventually we moved where there were things like roads and cars that led to stores with food. Getting soft in our old age!

That brought back memories. I rode one from Vancouver to San Francisco and back. Most of it beside the traffic lane. It topped out about 33 mph. Makes any travelling that I do now very easy by comparison.
Another memory is pulling into my girlfriends house with my shiny new Honda.
"Oh, is that the sound that I heard" said her father. "It sounded like a sewing machine". I fixed that, I took the muffler baffle out.

Traveled 1200 miles on our Ozarks trip this week. Saw one Casita on the road today in southern Iowa. Then 25 miles from home saw an Escape 19 pulled by a silver tow vehicle. Had bikes on the back. Was on Highway 30 westbound near Belle Plaine. Iowa. Rare to see one on 30.
Stopped at a very nice Roadside Park south of New Sharon Iowa. Maintained by the local lions club.
Pavilion with tables, garbage can and vintage restroom facility with crescent moon motif. Apparently a target of the local hooligans who had either tipped it over in the past as is the time dishonored tradition or the winds are awfully strong there. Two four inch fence posts now anchor this facility. Had to show our latest license plate addition to the 21 to eliminate confusion on who really owns Rita’s 21. Happy travels to all, we’re probably done for the year now.

Lots of “vintage” restrooms in the northland. Down here only at a few NF or COE places, and the one room schoolhouse turned community center 2 mile from here out in the country.
Our first trip with our new 19 will be in the Ozarks in November.

We stayed at Mill Creek COE on Table Rock. Very nice but will close soon for the season I believe. Had a wonderful time and camped with some good Escape friends. Trees just starting to turn color. Lots of nuts. Persimmons still on the trees and it had not frosted yet so I did not partake. Sadly I cannot recommend “Drop Tine” Persimmon flavored whicky. Too puckery. I can however recommend “Old Smokey” from Gatlinburg. Tennessee as a fine late afternoon sipping appetizer.

I-10 New Mexico
At 11:25 am MDT, Sunday Oct. 17, 2021, passed by a west-bound Escape - likely a 21' - on I-10 between Deming and Las Cruces, NM. We were east-bound.

That might have been us. My daughter lives in San Diego and we were traveling from Texas to visit her and the grandkids.

Yikes
This picture came up on my local newsfeed today. First rains of the the year here and slippery roads. Anyone know what brand of egg this is? Drive safe everyone...
