We had to find a new home for our Escape, as our hometown Storage/Service/Repair facility is relocating to another town. There were no other storage vacancies in Fremont, so we found a nice, clean, and covered facility in nearby Livermore, CA.. As Debbie and I are about to back into our new slot, I see a nice lady, 3-4 slots away, is trying to get my attention. I walked her way and discovered they are fellow Escape owners, Cathy and Art Molvik of Cardinals' Nest fame. I immediately recognized their beautiful red graphics from the August, 2016 Escape Calendar. We had a nice chat and promised to give a once-over-security-check to each others rigs when we visit our own.
I must say, It is a small world to Escape!

And getting smaller! Sightings were rare for us in Spokane but we've seen two Escapes in the last two days - a 19' "Eggy Sue" at Camping World yesterday and an unknown model being pulled by a maroon truck ahead of us on I-90 east the day before. We used to be lucky to spot one once a year.

Is yours the one that used to be in the lot next to Jack in the box near Irvington?

Yes it was, caddoster! We loved that storage facility. Easy in and Easy out, and only 5 minutes from our home. Roger's Camping Trailers has been at that location for more than 55 years; long before the Jack-In-The-Box. The City wants to redevelop and the second generation owners are nearing retirement age. The time was right for a sale of the land. In 12-18 months that location will be 4 story condos, just like across the street. I grew up in Irvington and prefer the way it was, before all the redevelopment. But, time goes on.......

Crap... I did not know about Roger's Camping Trailers until I noticed your trailer parked in the lot. I was just thinking that will be a good place for us to bring the future Escape in for service and random stuff.

Yeah, They were Sales and Service for many, many years, before the economy took a dive 10 years ago. Then, nobody was buying RV's. So, they made lemonade out of lemons, dropped the Sales, and added the Storage. It was great for them, as all those who stored there, also serviced there. It was great for those who stored, because service was On-Site. They are moving to Tracy, CA. and will not be storing. Only Service and Repairs. I will continue to use them, when needed, as both our daughters live in Tracy, and we are out there 1-2 times a week anyway. Plus, they are good mechanics, and I have known the owner since High School. He was a star football player and wrestler, and always a real nice, honest guy.

That was us on our way back home to Canada after a trip that included going to the outdoor quilt show in Sisters, Oregon and then into Missoula, Montana to visit family.

The 21' pulled by a Maroon truck was Us! Bill & Lisa from Okeana, Ohio. Picked her up on July 11th, camped at Lynden KOA one night then headed to Yellowstone. Safe Travels!
