I have no experience with the E2. Two years ago we went with the Pro Series due to their tried and true reliability. I am very happy with the choice and would do it again.

We went with the E2 on our 21 and have been completely satisfied so far. Dennis at ETI will install and adjust it while you are doing your orientation. Like Jon, we also replaced the retaining clips but went with this:

One piece so no little parts to lose.

We too have liked the smooth ride from the E2. The power tongue jack is very helpful and the snap L pins have made it all fairly easy.

If sway control is ur #1 issue go with the Equalizer, made in USA and lifetime guarantee.
Ad from their website:
For over 70 years we have been keeping families safe on the road with the best-performing sway control hitch on the market. The Equal-i-zer hitch’s integrated 4-Point Sway Control™ technology provides the safest towing possible and is backed by a lifetime warranty.
The Equal-i-zer hitch has been voted the #1 Hitch in America by thousands of Trailer Life Readers, for five years in a row. No other hitch has ever received this recognition.
Most of the Hitch companies have measured how much “side torque” I.e. sway control their hitches provide. Equalizer, according to independent reviews, provided by far the most, but it is not the cheapest hitch available and our good friends at eti don’t sell it, but for a fee will install it.

Escape does not sell the Equal-i-zer. The call a WDH "Equalizer" but it is not that one. Just for anyone's info. At least, they were not for many years and am not aware that they have it now.

The E2 hitch Escape installed on my August 21 manual lists it as a Fastway Trailer product from Progress Mfg, Inc, 350 S 1050 West, Provo, UT.

Escape has said for many years that they sold an "Equalizer" but I think that they had the E2 only recently. If that is the "Equal-i-zer" then they must have changed the name or have another version. It is one of their products, I take it.
They were selling the Pro Series. Think they still are.

Here’s our vote in favor of the Fastway E2.
Very stable pulling with the E2, even with 50 mph side gusts in the Texas panhandle and getting passed by 85 mph semis. It does well to overcome a couple shortcomings of our ’09 Explorer— (1) it’s short wheelbase, and (2) because of it’s goofy rear struts, there’s basically no way to bolster the rear suspension for load leveling.
It was a premium, but was definitely worth it to purchase from ETI, and have Dennis set it up (perfectly).
No problems backing up, and it is easy enough to hitch/unhitch. Jon Vermilye, thanks for the tip; we usually bust our knuckles pulling out the standard hairpin cotters.

They are linch pins. Use them all the time with my tractor and attachments. Can be purchased individually at agriculture stores or by the assortment at Amazon or Harbor Freight.
