First day of winter
Colorful Colorado.
A wonderful, warm , blue sky, sunny day.
Sitting out back at 5,000’ in a short sleeve shirt.
Who could have guessed?

Meanwhile, it was a cool, overcast, blustery day in the Florida Panhandle, following a couple of days of drenching rain. The cotton crop looked crappy as well. Pfft!
But the days will start getting longer again. Looking forward to 2019.

Ed, it was almost 60 degrees here in the Tehachapi mountains today at 5,600 ft. elevation. Figured I better take advantage so washed the Subaru this morning. Expecting snow early Christmas morning, though!

In the great white North...Kelowna BC still has no snow on the ground. A few days ago it got up to 10 Celsius or 50 Fahrenheit. In this last month every day has been well above freezing. Great weather for doing trailer modifications.

Here in Juneau, Alaska …. 1" of old still white snow on the ground, thin overcast clouds, 29F with the sun out. Hoping for a mild winter this year …. wonderful so far. Am very pleased that the day light hours will be getting longer!
Happy Solstice everyone!

We are currently at 24 deg F ( much too warm for late December ) with a light snow fall
It appears we will not have a White Christmas which is really sad for the children
We are expecting a wonderful snow storm on the Wed after Christmas , hopefully it will dump tons of snow
We are looking forward to sledding and drinking hot cocoa with our Grandkids
Merry Christmas

I celebrated the winter solstice last night by going out for a 12km training run in the dark using a headlamp for lighting my way. I had to wear my carbide studded Icebug shoes to provide traction as we had a bunch of freezing rain awhile back and the footing on the pathways is still treacherous. Temperatures were nice, only -3 deg C, however, the wind was a bit strong at about 46 kph.

Brown Christmas
No snow anywhere in Eastern Iowa. It was 50 degrees F about three days last week. No frost in the ground, farmers were out with one pass implements and chisel plows today. My son and I ran the Brittanys this afternoon in the pheasant habitat west of the house. Flushed 15 birds in about 40 minutes. Dogs looked good. And the Buckeyes took care of UCLA on the hard court. Merry Christmas to all. I’ve been real good, honest Santa

Like the icicle lights Dave. Here a nice fresh 5cm of light snow, not great for son and family traveling east 640 km today, hopefully better for us tomorrow for the same drive.
Have a Merry Christmas all!

Blustery winter day here in central Florida, started out at 50. Wife got to wear her "winter " clothes at least until the sun got overhead, has been beautiful weather the last week or so. Hope you and yours have a merry Christmas tomorrow.
