Finally getting around to ordering a new mud flap since I lost one with the tire blowout last fall. Thought you might like to see the damage to the wheel well. According to Reace, everything looks fine. I've had six trips since then so hearing that is a good thing. I don't know much about fiberglass construction but I do know it's not going to rust!

I'm leaning toward adding Plasti-Dip spray to the wheel wells of Ten Forward. It's more 'rubberized' so rocks 'should' bounce off and if it gets old and tired and funky looking... it peels off easily and can be reapplied.

If you are looking for an easy way to fill in any gouge try Marine-Tex. Incredible stuff. Order white so it dries to match.

Smart woman. Rough surface attracts dirt and is harder to clean than a smooth gelcoat surface.

what triggered this, when we got home from the 4-5 week road trip we took in the Casita last summer for the Eclipse etc, at some point we'd had to drive through 50 miles of fresh tar-n-pea-gravel. weeks later, I'm cleaning up the Casita, took me a whole lot of elbow grease with WD-40 and a scotch-brite teflon (orange with a white scour pad) sponge (try it, it works pretty good!) to get the tar streaks off the wheel wells. don't use the standard yellow with a green scour pad sponges, they'll trash the finish.

Plain old solvent does the job in minutes. Works for me.
