Frameless - How far do they open?

Greetings, Escapers!

Purposes of this question is *not* to start a debate on the pros/cons of framed vs. frameless windows. Working on my 17A build sheet, and I've educated myself to the point of analysis paralysis already ;-)

My specific question - does anyone have pictures of how far the frameless windows open? I'm trying to ascertain the trade-off in air movement. Here's a link to a picture on the Escape site, and I'm trying to determine if these windows are fully opened:

Thanks!

Welcome.
Ask and you shall receive...
Not as far as I thought they would and yes they may block wind blowing directly at them. However if you consider they are open on 3 sides the square inches add up.
The rear window of that picture shows the escape hatch which opens up more than the normal awning windows.
No mater what windows you select, you get one of them.

Indeed, and everything is a compromise!

Thanks so much for the picture - that helps.

Hope you can line up your trailer pick up in May so you can attend the Escape Rally.

There should be close to 150 Escapes there. Great place to pick up some ideas and meet fellow owners.

Welcome.

As Ed pointed out, the awning opens on three sides, and now that we have had both in an Escape, I can say the cross ventilation is equally as good with the awning.

The rally is definitely lots of good fun if you could make it.

Opening can Vary?

I just recently noticed that one of the loft windows in our 5.0TA can open further than the other frameless windows. It seems that it doesn't have the spacer that restricts the distance opened in the other windows. I wonder if it is advisable to remove or shorten the spacers.
