One flaw to your reasoning, is just using body length, the 5.1 is quite a bit longer than the 21. Confused yet? lol

Okay, a few rambles.
It can be confusing to keep track of all the numbers and letters used to designate models or versions of same model (look at car companies), so keeping it simple is good thing. Currently there is a mix within the Escape family, the current fifth wheel is 5.0. Letters have also been used, e.g. 17 A, 17B. I think that 19.1 or 19.2 is awkward or a combination like 17B.3. Choosing when to change the name is a challenge as each trailer produced by Escape is unique due to all the mods. Changing the name due to a major change to a model does make sense. Given this, I like 5TA. It is short, can be remembered and has a connection with the existing 5 and actually means something.

Use total length and it works.
The 5.0 is 19' 6"
The TA is 8" longer at 20' 2"
The 21 is 21' 6"
But you are right Jim! The 5s are longer!

I am the furthest thing from a bit-head, and still think with padlin's logic. I guess, because it makes sense.

One other alternative designation to 5TA could be 5T, short for fifth wheel tandem.

I think the "Escape 5 Donna D. Edition" would be perfect
Okay, that won't fly. However, I think anyone that currently owns the single axle 5er should be recognized as being trailblazers.
So... my vote Escape 5.0TA or Escape 5TA
Are you sure no one wants to own a Donna D. Edition 5er? (besides me )

5TA. The 5er has never had the length in the name, it's the Fifth Wheel tandem axle.
But Donna D Special Edition sounds good too.

5TA seems like a good concise choice.

Gave it some more thought and Tim's idea has a lot of merit. You could make it Escape 20.5, or Escape 21.5 depending if you want it to be considered 20' or 21'. This allows for any future length you might come up with as well as being more descriptive. It also brings it into the naming convention you use on the rear of the rest of your line.
On your web site you use the 17 Foot, or 17', as your TT designations, this would simply be 20 Foot 5th, or 20' 5th.

I too like the idea of 20.5 or 21.5. I wonder if using a dash or underscore would help set off the five as a 5th wheel trailer. Escape. 20-5 or 20_5

Most trailer manufacturers have models names rather than size. Naming based on size seems to be an all molded towable thing.
How about Escape Nirvana, Escape Dream or Escape Wanderer ?
