We did not get the hood, left the stove in the original position and like it that way. We went with the 2 burner stove and have plenty of room behind the stove to store paper towels, coffee cups and glasses and a bottle of wine or 2. We like being able to store stuff behind the stove and out of the way.

Stove vents with the max fan just fine.

I like having the stove be closer to the door so that i can easily put hot pots on the fold down counter and pass them outside.. I can also understand some of the advantages of going with the sink next to the door. The bottom line for me was that I didn't want to be standing next to the bed and cooking and I wanted to have flat surfaces on either side of the stove. I don't worry about accidentally knocking a pot because I can always put up the fold down counter.

In our 19, or stove and sink were reversed. It was fine.

After we had the trailer for a while I noticed that when the stove is by the door and the fold down counter is up, there is more room around the stove than there would be if it were by the bed. That allows for a little more flexibility with pot placement and long handles.

Guess it depends on how much you plan on cooking inside. We don't unless the weather is bad.

Thank you all for your input. It sounds like either position has its advantages and disadvantages and that we just need to make a choice.

Happy trails!
