Met one in the Canadian woods when driving a VW bug circa 1970. It was a whole bunch taller than my car!

To be correct, not a Cow, but a Bull.

They have no natural predator's here they move when and where they want too. Even tractor trailers don't win against one . Cars/pickups yeah no hope to live and write off the car . If that is in your headlights if you hit the gas so he doesn't land on your roof your good if your going to try to stop be sure you can before you hit it.

If I had, I probably would have forgotten how to take a picture, they are so immense. I'm sure they are a sight to behold. While driving to Banff I noticed the TransCanadian Highway having the "animal Bridges every so often to allow thee animals to cross and the fence is like 10' tall along the road compared to 3/4' fences down here. Once in BanffI I was walking in the woods and came upon a moose cow which was eating the moss that covers most of the ground there. I touched the hide to experience the feel which was like leather. I mentioned this to the Fairmont Banff concierge and was told I was lucky it did not try to stomp me. The one I approached was about 1/2 the size this one looks like.

They're putting in some of these along I-90 around the Snoqualmie Pass area. Great idea!
OMG, did you NOT see all the signs in Banff telling you to NOT feed or touch the elk? Or any of the videos of people getting attacked by the elk when they tried to approach them? Elk, moose - same type of big mammals that are wild and will attack people. They're not a plush toy or a backyard pet.

Alf,
Did you see the first comment after the article; someone's usurping your brand of humor:
" There is an arrest warrant out for him. He was swimming bear naked!"
