How is the stereo mounted in an Escape?

My 2014 Escape 21 is wired for stereo but none was installed. I intend to install one soon. I have seen from photos that the unit is installed in an upper cabinet, and I have located the wiring for it in an upper cabinet in my trailer. I'd like to know if there is a special bracket to help hold it in place, and if there is some kind of shield around the radio to keep other stuff in the compartment from banging into it or smothering it. I intended to use an external case as Jon V. did in his 17, but I'll put it in the cabinet if I can do it correctly. Thanks.

I use my iPhone and a Bluetooth speaker. Takes up little room. iPhone contains my entire music library and I have apps for listening to radio via wifi or phone data. Can also download podcasts ahead of a trip or when wifi is available.
It's also mobile for listening outside.
No holes.

If no one with a 21 pipes in.... On my 2014 5.0TA I had the prewire for the stereo done too. It amounted to one end of the speaker wires in the upper cabinet just forward of the door, one set of the other end went above the dinette and the other towards the bed in front of the trailer. If I recall correctly, ETI was installing the head just under the cabinet where they ran the speaker wires. There is also 12v available in the cabinet. They were using one of the plastic under cabinet housings like this one

Just a WAG, but it may be they hung them the same under the cabinet you found the wiring in in your trailer.

I've yet to do anything with mine, so far the phone and a bluetooth speaker have been enough.

This is a picture of how the radio is installed in a 21 from the ETI website.

Hmm-- so ETI mounts the stereo under the cabinet after all. I can do that. Thanks.
