How much headroom above 5.0 TA bed?

Sometimes I like to sit up in bed at home and read or watch TV. Or pull my socks on.

That got me wondering how much headroom there is over the stock bed in a 5.0TA. Can anyone help me?

I know the forward wall of the trailer slopes back which has caused some 5.0 TA owners to pull their mattress rearward so I know space is limited.

Thanks so much.

Tapers from 36" at the foot to 27" at the pillows. I'm 5' 9" and I can sit comfortably without hitting my head.

I thought about the 5.0 TA because from the outside it looked like it had far more head room than the 19. Then I found out it is wow, a full one inch more than the 19...(in the aisle, of course.)

🤔You have 1" more at lowest point, the height inside goes from 6'4" to 7'. A couple of really tall individuals looking at our trailer made comments on all the head room. There is 6' 5" under the AC unit. More than the 19??

Looking at the roof slope in this profile seems to clearly indicate if the height inside does go to seven feet that figure would only be valid in the doorway/immediate area of the steps going up to the bed platform.

According to the Specs on the ETI website, the interior of the 5.0TA is 6'4" to 7'. Since the A/C is an option, I would assume (hate that), it's without the A/C.

I don't sit on the bed to put my socks on, I sit on the loft stairs.

Right, but it is taller than 6'4" from the raised dinette area to the peak of 7'😎
As to the original question at 5'10" I have no problem sitting up in bed.

Right, so if I'm 6'7" I can enter the trailer with plenty of room over my head. Anywhere else in there I will be stooping.

Myron, though not sure of the exact height right now, even in the galley area the ceiling is already a ways higher than in other Escapes, as right from the rear it immediately starts rising. My 6' 4" brother has no issues at all, whereas he skims the ceiling in my other brother's 19.

Not sure where you're really going here but:

Look at the spec's for the 19'. It's 6' 3" interior. The 5.0 is 6' 4" at it's lowest point and 7' at the tallest near the door. "Anywhere else?" It doesn't just suddenly go to 6' 4" but slowly and evenly drops from 7' to 6' 4". So at 6' 7" you will have 4-5 feet or more before you hit your head.

How many feet in the 19' can that 6' 7" person stand erect; the answer is none.

On the other hand I'm not sure any 6' 7" person will be comfortable in any ETI camper. I have a friend who is 6' 5" and has said many times he has to stoop. It's just the price he pays for his height. He does enjoy parades though.

Enjoy,

Perry

At 6'7" you could stand upright in almost the entire galley area of my 5.0. You would just touch the AC. Without the AC you would have more than a couple " clearance, I just measured it😎

"...At 6'7" you could stand upright in almost the entire galley area of my 5.0...."

Hope springs eternal but... As we used to say, "Almost" only counts with horseshoes. I'll be on the lookout here for anyone with a 5.0 who will let me inside.

Almost is close enough with hand grenades too. If we make it to Quartzsite this year you are more than welcome to check inside my trailer, Myron.

What fiberglass camper can a 6' 7" human stand up from one end to the other? Not Escape, Scamp, Bigfoot, or Casita, and at 6' 6" of headroom not Oliver either. However, in the 5.0TA you at least get some headroom. You just need to accept your height.

Enjoy,

Perry
