If you could do it again, what would be different?
Gather everyone is happy with their trailer, but I was wondering if you could build one out again what would you change, remove or request added? Why?

I wish we'd had more time for the return trip. There are so many places to see and we only had 3 weeks

Opening loft windows instead of the double pane. Replace the holding tank sensors. Still undecided about the spray foam, if I ever have to work on anything down there I'll update this post.

I would have gotten solar and had it pre-wired for AC.

If had to do it again the only thing I would do different would be to order the front storage tool box. I could kick myself every time I think about not ordering it.

Works fine for the 2 of us, nice to put up the legs once in a while, also provides a fair amount of extra storage. The table legs make it a bit awkward to access the back cushion so sitting along the back doesn't happen much. Does make the table considerably smaller, but it's still decent size. All in all, we like it.

I would have moved the the switch for the tank heater to a more convenient location, not inside the storage area under the rear dinette seat. It is awkward especially when the rear dinette is made up as a bed with a topper.
Glad we didn't get a permanent bed instead of the rear dinette. The front table is wiggly, the view out the back is much better and it only take a few minutes to make up the bed using a topper.

We've only had the u shaped and think it's great. Had an old sticky with big table was heavy to lift off to make the bed, the small table in our 5.0 is easy to put up and down, and even came with old long woolen socks to put on the legs if traveling with table down, thanks Alf!

I would have ordered a digital thermostat, even if I don't have A/C...

I would not get the U shape dinette. It looks wonderful, but I have to make it into a bed every evening for my Mom and make it a dinette again in the morning. It is a PITA for me as I find the table heavy and very awkward. Next time, I'll have the regular dinette which is much easier to make into a bed.
I need to mention that my permanent bed is in the front and the u shape dinette is in the rear - reversed from the normal layout.

After 6 years, there is little I have found I would have added, other than prewire for portable solar, but heck, I can still do that. I never got the storage box (wasn't even available then), as we have a ton of storage as it is. I have no A/C or microwave (wouldn't work most places I camp anyway), and don't miss them.
I would maybe have eliminated a couple things, like the built-in stereo, and exterior shower (though doesn't hurt to have, in case).
In most cases, anything can be added later if desired.

I would have ordered (or tried to order) a raised floor for our 21 Dinette. Lindy (5'0) and I (5'8") are both a bit vertically challenged, and our feet don't sit comfortably on the floor. We found a couple of small stools that we can use to put our feet on, but this summer's project is going to be building some sort of a platform for back there...

We did do it again! Changes we made were to eliminate the heat mats, didn't use them in two years and didn't seem needed for us. Added digital thermostat. Went to a hinged table from pedestal. Eliminated window in bathroom. We got customer counter top colour. We added a inverter with transfer switch. Oh and the probably the biggest difference is its a 21 from a 19

This points out why the options are an individual choice -- and not always the best one. It will be just the two of us in our 19 -- and the U-shaped dinette makes total sense. On the odd chance that one or two of the grandkids are with us, making the dinette into a bed is no big deal. It won't be that often. Besides, like Donna has said, "that's what tents are for".

For us the hinged table was the best option as the dinnette is primarily left as a bed so not having to store the loose pedestals and not having the bases that are attached to the floor in the way are going to be nice . That's what's nice about having the choice of what suits your personal preference .

But isn't the regular dinette table larger than the one used for U shape dinettes?
