Introduction

Excuse my manners. I just butted right in and started babbling.

My name is Barry Perkins. I live in Rockwell, NC. Born in Fort Ord, Ca. in 1963. Left there when I was two(dad was in service). I have spent the last 23 years working for Concord's electric system maintaining their substation equipment(power transformers, breakers, batteries.

Like all of you I have camped in various methods from laying on the ground up to a 26' fifth wheel. I was drawn to the forum from the scamp forum. I do not need to explain why. Opinions are like the south end of a north bound donkey, we all have them but I am not asking to see yours. I pledge to try to limit mine as much as possible.

I am looking to buy my last camper, within the next 10 years I intend to live full time in it and see this great country of ours. Of course you know that there are a huge amount of back around the corner neat holes in the wall places to see and people to meet in the mean time.

I am rambling again, it is a disease.

Re: Introduction

Hi Barry,

My first camping trip was a "back-around-a-corner-down-a-narrow-road-into-a-tight-spot" sort of place. The trailer was amazing. Shortly after that I backed it up a "snowy-narrow-800m-ramp-with-an-audience". Also amazing!

All works amazingly well. Funny thing is, it's even more fun going forward! I have spent better than 7 months a year in mine since I got it, the only issue has been with the fridge (essentially the trailer beat the pulp out of it, but it was replaced on warranty).

It's the perfect trailer for seeing this great continent - last year I pulled the trailer nearly up to Inuvik (NWT, Canada) and down to Vicksburg, MS - all the while getting about 460km on a tank. It truly doesn't get much better than that.

Cheers,
Dirk
