Jim the 4380 is the dead towed weight on the two axles. The Allowable cargo weight is on the door sticker as 1323lbs
That’s 500 tongue, plus passengers and gear which I weighed to be 750. Then I took a little stuff back out that I did not haul that trip. I tried to get some weight off the trailer when I set it up this spring. Only 1 ball pien hammer (model SMFH). Lighter hatchet, smaller lighter shovel, very small folding saw, only one 1/2 inch ratchet instead of two. Only the 1/2 inch sockets that fit something. A few pounds here and there added up and I must have come down about 50 lbs from last fall. Extra bag chairs only two and very light ones at that. I was surprised how many multiples I had of some things. I now Carry only two multi bit screw drivers, only 5 End wrenches two pairs of pliers etc. if I could de clutter my house junk like that I’d have something. For now I think I have the Highlander/ Escape under control.
It works for me and the way I load and drive. Compared to the 40 or 50 Idiots I see towing every day, I’m the least of anybodies worry out there.
