Reace did a tour of all the trailers at Escape rally two years ago and fixed the sticky lever problem on the thermostats.
I don't know what he did exactly. If nobody here chirps up, you might send an email to ETI asking what he did.
I think he just trimmed a bit of plastic off with a jackknife, but safer to ask.

Ruth, those stock thermostats are notorious for the on/off switch being sticky. I put a digital in early last year, and don't know why I didn't before, it is way more accurate, and easier to turn off and on.

Jim,
Can you post the specific brand and model? Does it make a click when it fires the furnace?

Leon,
The temperature swing is adjustable. I played with our stock non-digital one and got rid of the short cycling, but it had another problem, so we replaced it with a Honeywell digital which has worked well right out of the box.

Only one I've found here ( Rona and Home Depot ) is a Honeywell, for $50 plus tax. One that costs less ( $30 ) is indicated for baseboard heaters.
I don't understand the difference, or which type is required, only that I don't need any programmable features.

The baseboard heater thermostats are line voltage, meaning they have the full 120V per leg going through them. Other thermostats either use no voltage (like the ones supplied with our trailers, or use battery power to operate.
