Not so funny

Geez
I was just kidding about trucking gasoline into Canada. I’m apprehensive even here in the states when I go get 5 gallons of gas for my mower and haul it ten miles home. I have a lot of reapect for flammables and serious chemicals and don’t like hauling them if I don’t have to. My Dad hauled gasoline for the tanks in the Third Armored. ( Spearhead) in the war. He helped me develop a healthy respect for safety around petroleum products at a young age.

There were TV News reports of some pouring gasoline into heavy duty garbage bags in the trunk of the car.
Thankfully, I live far enough from the border that wasting my time ( and gas ) to drive across for fuel has never entered my mind.

One of the very few things I dislike about traveling in Canada....

Hiking our gas tax has been discussed in Congress most seriously when the Chairman of the House Transportation Committee Bill Shuster (R-PA) floated the idea a few years ago, offering to use the funding to improve roads and bridges. It was a nonstarter...so we bump along and pray when we cross a bridge it does not fall down. We will see if they can agree on an Infrastructure bill...maybe then.

What I really like is those places up in the Yukon where the price is high, even by Canadian standards, but it beats pushing ur rig eh?
