This suggests that the fixed home tanks have liquid service ports. I would have guessed that they are used in vapour service for the domestic loads and wouldn't have a liquid port equipped with a service valve, but apparently I would have guessed wrong. That's an interesting option for those with home tanks.

More on the propane shortage, its is specifically about the US but probably applies to our friends north of the border too:
