Maiden Voyage Soon - Neah Bay/Cape Flattery

We get our Escape trailer in 3 weeks

We are planning a few days in Washington - drop down to Bellingham and then heading west to Neah Bay and then back by the same route. From there, through Vancouver to Whistler/Pemberton and might see if the D'Arcy/Seton Portage road is passable. Then Lillooet and home.

Any tips for the Neah Bay/Olympic Peninsula portion - what campgrounds to stay (or not).

I guess that I'll have to buy Kathy & Craig's guidebook to the area

Ten (10) more days (business days that is) until E Day

we were going to do the Olympic Penninsula last year--but ended up going down near Vantage instead--so can't help at all...
Deception Pass is very nice...As are the others on Whidbey Island

Re: Maiden Voyage Soon - Neah Bay/Cape Flattery

Thanks amirie,

Neah Bay apparently has an archeological site we wish to visit ("the Pompei of North America"). While tourists cannot go into the actual site, its supposed to have a pretty cool North American Indian (U.S. term)/First Nations (Canadian term) museum.

Next week we can say "next week we are picking up our trailer"!

Last year we traveled the Duffy Lake Road from Lillooet to Squamish. Beautiful scenery and lots of "cutbacks" and steep road conditions. Good breaks are a must as is a cool rad and a full tank of gas.
Enjoy!!

You'll have a great time. Terrific state parks.

This is 'Old Bag' looking out to sea from the dunes at our campsite at Nehalem Bay.

It was Oct. mind you.

Nice pic! But why do you call your daughter "Old Bag". Must be an inside family-type joke.

"Old Bag" is my wife Leslie. She's the 'Old Bag' because she is slightly older than me.

or bags

Just kiddin' ya. I didn't really need the full explanation

Any road trips planned for the summer? Your holiday/action photos throughout the forum where one of the reasons my wife and I decided to buy an Escape rather than other brand (or used).

I figured, but others might be offended.
Not sure how they would react when she introduces herself as the 'Old Bag'.
