Maxx vs Fantastic

I've noticed that there are several people who ordered their trailer with a Fantastic Fan instead of the standard Maxx Air Fan. Can you please tell me why that choice was made? Maybe it's something I need to consider in my Escape obsession (new 17B soon).
Thank you!

Hi: Carol R... I really don't know as the MaxxFan is just way better... IMHO. I left ours open in a severe TStorm in Indiana that resulted in Tornados in the area and not a drop of water came in. The MaxxFan does just about everything and we use it at night to vent the trailer as its so quiet. You can even tow with it open as it has a locked up position too!!! This fan is one of the reasons I liked the Escape Trailer...Quality Alf

I have had 5 trailers with the Fantastic Fan and each time I have had to upgrade or modify the basic 3 speed to slow down or add a reverse, the low is too fast and you have to cut the speed in half. You also have to install covers to operate in the rain. That said, the MaxxFan I now own already has the cover and 14 speeds, no modifications are needed. You do the math.
