microwave cabinet

Hi Escapees,

We are about ready to drive to BC fir new 17B!
Has anyone found a microwave small enough to fit the cabinet?
We opted to find our own and keep it behind the cabinet door rather than have ETI flush-mount one. Now we see there is a problem with the depth of the cabinet. Haven't found a microwave that is less than 12 3/4" deep and cabinet is supposed to be 12 inches deep. There might be some wiggle room or else we'' have to take the door off
We're interested to see if anyone has found one that fits with the door on.

I understand there can be some variance in cabinet sizes, etc. so we asked for someone to measure ours. Thanks for any advice

I purposely ordered our 19 without the microwave so that I could get the free door to use elsewhere.
I measured the microwave depth the best I could and the body is 11.5 inches. There could also be protrusions on the back a there is a handle on the front.
Some more info is at the bottom of this page.

This is the one we put in our 5.0 microwave cabinet behind the cabinet door. It’s much cuter than the average microwave and fits fine for us. I use a couple tension rods to keep it from moving around when we are driving.

I don't know if it will fit in a 17, but both tif-texas & I installed a Panosonic inverter microwave in 21's. It is a 120V, 950 watt stainless microwave. The advantage is when you turn it down from full power, it actually drops the input wattage/current. Great for running on the trailer's inverter. It does require some modification of the cabinet.
